THE AMNESIA CHAPTER ( Play Pretend)

Still hang up on what happened, Rae tought to herself. The fact he was acting in a cold manner towards her made her uncomfortable.

From denying phone calls and messages to ignoring she ever existed.
Deep down inside, he hurt her but she couldn't tell him. At least, not this "him".

She knew that something was wrong so didn't put it fully on him, however the damage had already been done. Even so, she asked Toast to call him to somehow calm a little the situation.

"(Would it be enough)", she tought.

She hesitated a moment before entering the call, but trusted Toast handling of the problem. She finally joined.

" Hi", she said.

Two of the others on the call responded warmly.

Toast: " Hi,Rae."

Corpse: " Yo, Rae."

She was waiting for the answer of the other one.

Sykkuno: " Oh, it's you. Hi", he said with the calmest of tone.

She wasn't satisfied with that greetings. 

" Not very excited today, are you?"

He didn't quite understand what she meant.

Sykkuno : " I mean, I'm excited to play with Corpse if that's what you meant."

She tought to herself that at least one thing hadn't changed. 

Corpse: " Sykkuno,you're kinda off today..."

She couldn't agree more.

Sykkuno: " Why is everyone telling me that? "

Corpse: " I mean, where's the gasp and all that shit."

" That's what I've been telling him."

She did her best to keep her composure.

" By the way, Sykkuno."

They could feel the spite coming out of that sentence. He didn't seem to notice however.

Sykkuno: "Yes?"

" Why are you ignoring my calls and messages?"

Toast,sighing: " I'm out of this one".

He muted himself.

Corpse: " Yeah, you're definitely off."

Sykkuno: " Well, I usually don't answer to str......Actually,nevermind, n-nothing." 

She snapped at him.

" LISTEN IF I TRY TO REACH OUT TO YOU, YOU AT LEAST HAVE TO RESPOND! EVEN A SINGLE WORLD WOULD DO IT!"

Corpse : " Oh my fucking god."

Somehow, the screaming felt kind of nostalgic to him. 

" ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?"

He felt threatened but not so much that it would cause him to panick.

Sykkuno: " Yes. Anyway, I was planning on responding later to you."

Corpse: " Yeah, dude. You're totally weird today."

She didn't understand. She was starting to wonder if this play pretend had to last any longer.

" Hm, Sykkuno, I just kind of noticed but you haven't said my name once. Even when I joined, the only words you said were "it's you". Aside from that, you didn't panick when I started screaming at you."

Sykkuno: " Your name's something like Rae, right? "

Corpse: " You're being weird again."

She was starting to reach her boiling point.

" You know what, I don't wanna play pretend. We're done. "

She left the call.

Sykkuno: "Did I do something to bother that girl, Corpse?"

Corpse: " That girl? Dude, you're seriously scaring me."

Sykkuno : " What do you mean, Corpse ?"

Toast unmuted.

Toast: " You seriously fucked up."

Corpse: " Care to explain what's happening. I don't feel like playing anymore. "

They cut off their respective streams.  Toast explained the full situation to Corpse.

Sykkuno: " Well, sometimes, when I try to remember something, I kinda feel like someone hit me with a bat."

Toast: " At least, you still say the most random of things."

Corpse: " What....."

They couldn't realise, but she was still hearing them. She was seeking an answer for his unusual behaviour in light of the recent events.

" (He does have a bat, but why would he hurt himself with it?"), she tought.

Corpse: " Was someone in your house swinging around a bat by any chance?"

Toast: " Ah. Mister got caught in the crossfire. "

She had stopped listening to them.

Toast: " Wait , that bat , don't tell me it's that one...."

Sykkuno: " The heck? That one? What do you mean?"

She layed on her bed, she couldn't keep her collected nature anymore. She felt like she had to do something.
