PARTING DAYS- Chapter R- Ray of Joy

The call had been picked up.

" Hello", he said shyly waiting for a response at the other hand of the phone.

Rae: " Oh, I haven't heard from you that way in a long time.

The remark hit the spot.

" Y-yeah....Sorry about that. Someone may have put the wrong ideas in my head."

Rae: " You're only now realising that?Don't you have something to say?" 

" I'm sorry for ignoring your pain all this time. Are you willing to forgive me?"

Rae: " Maybe..."

His lips had started trembling.

" I saw.  The pain reflected on your face at that moment, it was unbearable. I was so focused on her that I didn't notice how you felt!"

Rae: " W-w-why were you looking at me?!"

Her voice sounded energetic in contrast to the day the three of them went in the theater.

He giggled a bit as he made sure to put an emphasis on all of his next words.

" Cause I wanted to."

Rae: " Really?"

He assertively stated his new intents.

" Yes and I wish I'll be able to see that captivating face even more."

He wasn't in position to see it, but the serenade had switched the colour of her whole features.

Her end of the call had gone silent for a moment.

Rae: " Aren't you and that girl a thing ?"

He immediately followed through.

" I broke up with her."

She was happy about the fact but tried her best to not show it. She couldn't deal with the level of insufferable that girl was at.

Rae: " Did something happen?"

" She....."

She could already tell she had said something bad from her previous encounter with the girl.

She sounded exasperated.

Rae: " Ah. What did she say? "

" She insulted you!"

Her eyes opened wide as he revealed the reason.

" I'll never forgive her for it!"

She smiled.

Rae: " Thank you for standing up for me." 

A contemplative silence filled both of the room they were in .

He couldn't see her but he was able to feel the ominous aura emanating even trough the call. Shivers had invaded his whole spine.

Rae: " It took you long enough , like 1 month maybe. Hm."

He felt as is life was in danger.

" I- I I'll make it up to you!"

Rae: " I hope so...."

" After all, you are the first."

He hung up.

The phone almost dropped out her hand before she came back to her senses. 

" You're so silly."

She closed her eyes in acceptance and smiled as she directed herself toward the sofa.

A hand waved at her, to signal her to say if she was finished with the phone.

Poki: " So, how dit it go? Rae? Rae?"

She moved her hand multiple times in front of eyes, without getting a response. 

Rae:" Hey, Poki, don't you think I have incredibly captivating facial features?"

She had some sort of proud smile on her face.

Poki: " What? Why are you smiling like that?..........Well, anyway, how did it go?  "

She continued having the smile on her face.

Rae: " He said he wasn't willing to forgive."

Poki: " I feel like I'm missing details."

Rae: " Don't sweat the small stuff."

She had already lost her in confusion.
