Izuku's eyes widened as he feels Ochaco loop an arm around his neck and press her lips up to his.

His first instinct is to stop the kiss.  Lean his head back or push her away gently.  Anything to stop the kiss.

But he can't move his body.

After a few seconds, Ochaco pulls away.  Izuku finds himself staring deep into her sparkling, chocolate brown eyes.  She had a small half-smile on her face, but it slowly disappears when Izuku's facial expression doesn't change.  She slowly unloops her arm from around his neck and puts some distance between herself and him.  Izuku just watches her as she walks backward a small distance and look down to the ground.

"I...I'm sorry," she eventually says after a few seconds of awkward silence.  "I shouldn't have."

She looks as if she wants to say something else, but she shakes her head before turning from him and walking down the path towards her family's apartment.

Meanwhile, Izuku is still frozen in shock.  His eyes focus on her as she takes a deep breath and continues walking down towards Takoba's exit gate.

He shouldn't have let her kiss him like that.  He should have pushed her away when she leaned in towards him.

At first, Izuku didn't plan on stopping her.  It was apparent that she was feeling very, very sad at this point.  They'd probably avoid each other for a week or so, but knowing her, she'd probably want to make amends.

But, was it really right?  Making her feel that kind of sadness?

The thought triggers something within him.  Before he realizes it, he feels himself jogging up to Ochaco.

"Uraraka-san!" he calls out, jogging up to her.

She turns to him, the tears glistening in her eyes.  It takes him a second to realize what he's about to do.

Oh crap, no, I should stop myself...

...

Should I?

He catches up to her and grips onto both of her arms, forcing her to look at him.  She looks surprised at this action.  For a few seconds, the two of them just stand there, staring into each other's eyes.  After a few seconds, Ochaco turns her head away from him and closes her eyes, but Izuku moves his hands to cup her face, forcing her to look back up at him.  Her eyes widen at gesture and she seems as if she's about to ask something, but Izuku leans down and presses his lips to hers in a kiss.

What am I doing...?

This is the exact opposite of what I should be doing.

After a few seconds, he pulls back and pulls her in for a hug.  The two of them just stand there, relishing in each other's warmth.  It's apparent that Ochaco's sadness had melted away and her facial expression was that of gentle contentment.

Izuku, meanwhile, couldn't enjoy the moment without feeling a little bit of regret.

He had fallen in love with the daughter of his adoptive family.  He realizes that he was in love with her for a long time.  He just didn't know it until now because of the side of him he had to shut off when it came to living in a world where being even a little merciful or accepting towards strangers meant possible death.

He had fallen too far into a hole he should've never fallen into.

Midoriya-kun, look at this!

K-Kacchan, is that what I think it is?!

A shard of radianite!  It's about the size of my fist, too!  We can sell this and split the cash we get from it between the two of us and feed our families for months!
