Chapter 26

Izuku had finally managed to find the time to meet privately with his fellow agents.

As the week progressed, Izuku's teachers started giving him and his classmates more work, which started occupying a bit more time than he had anticipated.  He didn't know why they did, but perhaps they were cramming in more work in anticipation of internship eating up a lot of their students' time.

There was also the matter of his relationship with Ochaco.  Being in a romantic relationship had also been more time-consuming than he had expected.  Planning for his own first date had taken quite a bit of his time.  It went smoothly though, so that time didn't completely go to waste.

Izuku had finally managed to worm an afternoon meeting with his squadmates as his daytime activities usually left him to tired to put his full focus in midnight meetings, which was insanely inconvenient.  At the time, Izuku, Yoru, Jett, and Phoenix were sat in a circle behind a hill in one of the more isolated spots in the park near the Urarakas' apartment.  He had relayed the news from his private meeting with the commander a few nights earlier.  They took it with an expected amount of panic, but they decided to just pray for the best as there was nothing they could do to help their agency against the impending disaster.  Then Izuku told them of his encounter with Madame Leech and the deal she offered him.

"Yeahhhh no," Yoru immediately says upon hearing about the deal, which surprised Izuku since Yoru was the kind of guy to think long about his next words before saying them.  "You are not taking that deal."

"Why not?" Izuku asks.  "I've thought about this.  We have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain from this."

"I gotta agree with my bruv Yoru on this one," Phoenix says.  "You joined the agency a bit too late to really know who the Leech Bitch was, but she is baaaaad news.  What she deals you may sound really good at first, but you never know what her true intentions are."

"I know that would normally be the case, but our situation right now isn't normal," Izuku says.  "She can't possibly touch our agency now.  She's literally a dimension away from it."

"I still wouldn't bet it against her," Yoru says.  "She's proved to do the impossible numerous times already."

"I don't see why we shouldn't just go to her and fire her ass up," Jett says matter-of-factly.

"Wow what a splendid idea," Yoru says, blankly.  "Why didn't we, one of the most powerful agencies in the world, ever think of that?"

"Did we?"

"If it were that simple, she'd be dead a long time ago," Yoru says.  "Because of her powers, nothing really works on her.  She's strong and smart enough to easily ward off direct attacks and ambushes are out of the question.  She's seemingly untouchable."

"Hawks was seemingly untouchable," Jett says.  "Bet his body's still under those two skyscrapers we toppled on top of him."

"Yeah, well the Leech Bitch is on a whole new level," Yoru says.  "Hawks was powerful, but he was just a pro hero with a lot of resources.  Leech Bitch's resources aren't as abundant, but she's a cunning Radiant with very powerful abilities."

"Isn't that another reason to accept the deal?" Izuku asks.  "Even if she isn't really an ally, what we can reap from her efforts may help us."

"It's still not worth it," Yoru says, folding his arms and shaking his head.  "It may sound insane, but with the Leech Bitch specifically, taking her head on as an opponent is less risky than accepting her as an ally.  Plus, her claim about her probably being one of our future targets holds a lot of ground.  And there's no way in a million years will our commander grant her immunity."
