Mr. Aizawa brightens the lamp on his desk as he pulls out another student profile to look at.
It wasn't really a necessary step, but he felt it was his job as a teacher to get to know a bit more about his students.
This year, it seemed, he had an interesting roster. Especially the tree names at the top of his list.
Shoto Todoroki, son of the number two hero, Endeavor.
Katsuki Bakugo, the only living connection to Deku Hisashi.
Izuku Midoriya, the first placer in the entrance exam.
Izuku and Deku were complete look-alikes. They both had the same shade of green hair, same shade of green eyes, even the exact same number of freckles on their faces. The two of them were complete mirror images.
The similarities stopped at their appearances though. There was almost no information about Izuku Midoriya: just his age, his Quirk, which was registered as "particle manipulation", and who his current adoptive parents. There was no place of birth or date of birth. No names in the birth parents category. There were no past school logs or past grade reports or anything at all. There was zero information about him. He was registered to using firearms, but he served no time in the military, hasn't registered any time into gun ranges, had nothing to explain his efficiency with guns.
There was something else off about him.
As a pro hero, hostage rescue missions were something Mr. Aizawa was used to doing often out on the field. There was this one specific hostage though, a forty year old man, that he had rescued from a gang of angry dudes who were very fond of their baseball bats. A week after that mission, Mr. Aizawa went to visit that man and, in the process, nearly gets blasted by the man's double-barreled shotgun multiple times.
The look in that man's eyes was something similar to the look in Izuku's eyes.
But he had the feeling Izuku had went through way more than just being held hostage.
Maybe, somewhere, Izuku may have been a soldier.
Maybe even an off-the-books mercenary.
He decided to forget the idea. He had no evidence to uphold the idea of a fifteen-year-old mercenary. Plus, the idea itself sounded ridiculous.
Mr. Aizawa closes Izuku's file and pushes it off to the side, deciding that he wasn't going to think so hard over a single student. He opens another folder, one labeled "Kaminari Denki" before he hears a small whoosh of air behind him.
He was in an enclosed office space with none of the windows open. Air can't enter naturally with a whoosh into the office.
Mr. Aizawa stands up and turns around. His back was facing to the door, which was slightly ajar. He clearly remembered shutting the door completely before sitting at his desk.
He slowly inches his way towards the door and pushes it open, looking down the empty hallway. There was nobody around.
Sighing, he walks back into the office and shuts the door behind him. As he sits down in front of his desk, he notices the corner of a small yellow sticky note under one of the folders, Izuku Midoriya's file. He lifts the folder to reveal a bright yellow sticky note with a hastily written message.
HURT SPARK AND YOU'RE DEAD
Taking the sticky note, Mr. Aizawa crumples it into a tiny ball and flicks it into the wastebasket nearby. He grabs Kaminari's folder, but decides not to open it and sets it back onto the table before walking around the office. It seemed to him that he was alone in it again.
