With finals quickly approaching, Izuku knew he had to cram to make up for the time he had spent idling in the hospital.
If he thought school was intense before, he was clearly mistaken. His teachers were beginning to really press him and his fellow students in Class 1A. Although none of it was new material, he knew that they were trying to cram a whole year of material into one month.
Even with how hard the teachers were pressing him though, Izuku found that school time alone wasn't enough to make sure that he could grasp all of the material by the end of the month. Thankfully, neither did any of his other classmates. Their solution? Gather up inside of one of their classmate's, Momoshiro's, large mansion and have large study sessions.
As a kid, Izuku had gotten all of his education from his commander. Brimstone, as a military commander, had a strict way of teaching his soldiers, or agents. His strict way of teaching carried on with him into the classroom as well as the shooting range. Izuku thought he knew intense, but after tutoring under Momo, he had found himself to be wrong.
Being tutored by someone 1) who knew more about each individual subject than the teachers themselves did and 2) was someone who didn't really acknowledge that her students had memory capacities not as large as hers was something that Izuku did not like. In fact, he was pretty sure he'd rather get shot point blank in the head than have to sit through this torture. At least getting shot was a quick way to go.
However, he couldn't deny that it was effective.
What Izuku enjoyed more, though, was training for the physical part of the test. Because that was when he could take control.
The class's practice regimen was simple: split off into random groups of four and try taking down the green-haired boy in separate 1v4 battles. That way, not only could Izuku practice his own technique, he could examine how his other classmates fought and point out and fix their errors. At first, the other students of Class 1A were a bit wary of this regimen, considering that Izuku had just come out of the hospital, but he said that he didn't mind. A few practice sessions later, his classmates stopped worrying for him.
Another day goes by. Izuku goes to pick up Kirishima from the ground, after sustaining yet another attack from him, Iida, Tokoyami, and Kaminari. The last three were caressing light but painful wounds all over their bodies. The rest of the Class 1A students were seated around in the bleachers surrounding one of the small arenas within UA's facility, all in their hero outfits. Nearby, Mr. Aizawa watched over the interactions with a watchful eye.
"Now," he says, folding his arms as he looks up to the other Class 1A students seated around. "Who can point out the mistakes made during that little scuffle?"
"Ooh! I know!" Hagakure exclaims, one of a pair of floating gloves lifting into the air. "Tokoyami-san relies on his Quirk too much!"
"Precisely," Izuku responds with. "All I had to do was detain Dark Shadow and he was practically defenseless. However, there is a way that he can get around that. Tokoyami, I'll have a talk with you about that privately later. Anything else?"
"Kaminari fought like an idiot," Todoroki points out non-chalantly.
"Hey, who are you calling an idiot?!" Kaminari shouts, indignantly.
"True, and it looks like he'll be fighting like that for the rest of his life at this rate," Izuku replies with, sighing in disappointment. "However, I think I have a way to make that work. I'll discuss that with you later though, Kaminari."
"Also, Kirishima was fighting too offensively," Sero says.
"Right as well," Izuku says. "Kirishima, your Quirk is a very, very defensive one. You're not using it correctly. I understand that you're an aggressive guy, but you would be much more helpful as a shield for your more range-reliant allies. Be the Great Wall of Kirishima."
