The next two weeks passed by slowly.

Ochaco extended her's and Izuku's exercise schedule, which Izuku didn't find a reason to decline.  His teachers were pretty lenient on him and his classmates, giving them time to train up for the Sports Festival.

Ochaco wanted to get better at hand-to-hand combat, so she beckoned Izuku to go harder on her when they did their sparring sessions.  Izuku complied, making sure not to go too hard on her as to not accidentally injure her.  However, he did spar harder as promised.  As a result, their sparring sessions were much shorter, but Ochaco didn't particularly mind.  Her determination to improve astounded Izuku.

It wasn't just Ochaco who wanted to improve though.  Ever since the USJ Incident, Izuku found the need to recondition his body into what it was before when he was actively working as a Valorant agent.  As a result, he started using his ultimate while sparring with Ochaco.

Well, he didn't exactly use it.  He just activated it, but didn't actually use it while he and Ochaco sparred.  As a result, he would usually lose control of himself in their multiple sparring sessions after several minutes of consecutive sparring.

Ochaco would notice this as Izuku would start attacking more like an animal and with less of the carefulness he usually sparred her with.  As a result, Ochaco would either snap her fingers in front of his face or, in not as many occasions, punch him in the face.  Whenever that happened, she'd profusely apologize.  Izuku would just laugh it off and call for a short break.

Ochaco didn't quite mind Izuku's episodes.  She knew that he would never consciously hurt her What she found more concerning was how he'd suddenly double over in pain after his Quirk shut off, which was usually around several minutes of usage.  When this happened, Izuku would just brush it off and call for a small break.  Though he did recover quickly from those, Ochaco was concerned for him, fearing that usage of his Quirk endangered his physical health.

When she confronted him about this, Izuku just smiled and told her that he was well aware of the dangers his Quirk brought to his body and assured her that he wasn't putting himself in danger by using his Quirk in the way he currently was.

Ochaco had an argument in the case of him saying that, but that warm smile of his melted her brain.  She just nodded and turned her head away quickly, praying that he didn't see her blush.  She didn't know whether his chuckle was a good sign or not.

As the weeks passed on, Izuku found that his conditioning was producing results.  By the end of one week, Izuku could keep his ultimate activated for around eight minutes.  Two days before the scheduled date of the UA Sports Festival, those eight minutes become thirteen.

As for Ochaco, she was satisfied with the improvement in her Quirk usage and skill in hand-to-hand combat.  She felt the strongest she had ever felt before and didn't believe she'd ever reach the level she was at without Izuku.  It just confirmed how thankful she was for the addition of him into her family.

However, it wasn't a completely safe system.

One day, about a week until the Sports Festival, while sparring, Izuku punched Ochaco in the face, hard enough to break her nose.  Her yelp of pain was more than enough to snap him out of his radianite-crazed state.

Izuku was quick to profusely apologize and heal the wound before deactivating his ultimate.  Despite how serious the situation seemed, Ochaco tried to brush it off the same way Izuku would brush off her punching him in the face, but she never hit him hard enough to even make him bleed.

After that, Izuku decided to call off sparring for the day.  Ochaco wanted to protest, but knew that Izuku's protectiveness over her wouldn't permit him to go on with anymore sparring for at least the rest of the day.  So, Ochaco just complied with going home hours before when they usually went home.
