Izuku, the Radiant Hero (BNHA x Valorant Crossover)

Chapter 16

"Now, it's time for the second event of this year's Sports Festival!" Present Mic shouts.  "Who's excited?!"

Deafeningly-loud cheering from audience.

It had been twenty minutes since the first competition, a very eventful obstacle race, came to an end.  At first place was Izuku with Bakugo and Todoroki landing second and third respectively behind him.  

The rest of Class 1A have all managed to land in the top fourty-two.  Ochaco had managed to land in eighth place, a placement that she was very proud of achieving.

Ochaco looked to her side to see Izuku focusing intently on Present Mic.  When he noticed her looking at him, he turned to her and smiled.  She quickly faced away from him, praying that her blush wasn't too bad.

"The second event is the ever-exciting UA Chariot Battle!" Present Mic shouts.  "Midnight, if you will."

"These are the rules," Midnight says, pointing to a TV screen that flashes to light.

On the screen is a comical version of the astronaut hero, Thirteen, and Present Mic holding up All-Might in a sitting position who was pointing forward.  

"All of you will be grouped into groups of at most four people," she says.  "At least one in your group must be the rider.  Everyone will be wearing a headband with a number of points according to what placement they made in the obstacle race.  The objective is to snag as many headbands as possible while preventing the same happening to your own headbands.  Only the top four teams will proceed to the next round.  Now, the point count for each placement will be displayed on the screen."

A list of placing numbers starting from the number fourty-two appeared on the screen.  From five points, the points went up by five for every placement.  The second place holder held two hundred and five points.

But then, the points jumped.  The first place holder held ten million points.

Izuku didn't need to turn his head from the screen to know that the other competitors have turned to him.

"You all have fifteen minutes to form your teams," Midnight says.  "Alright everyone, get to it!"

"Izuku-kun!" Izuku hears Ochaco say.

"I'm guessing you wanna be part of my team?" Izuku asks.

"Of course!" she says.  "I don't think I'd feel confident with anybody else to be honest."

"Sure thing," Izuku says, looking around.  "But I guess you and I'll be a two-person team.  Nobody else seem to want to partner up with me."

"Midoriya," he hears someone call just as he says that.

Izuku turns around to see Tokoyami.  The emo, bird-head was approaching Izuku, his hands in the pockets of his athletics pants.

"I've come to ask if you're in need of a teammate," he says.

Izuku pulled out all the mental info he had on Tokoyami.  Despite his appearance, the emo bird-head was a very normal teenager.  He didn't appear to have extraordinary strength or speed.  He did have some combat experience, but so did everyone else in his grade.

His selling factor was his Quirk, Dark Shadow.  Not only was it a powerful Quirk, Tokoyami had some pretty extraordinary control  it.  Although he wasn't exactly the strongest student in the class, it wasn't like he had many options.  Even Iida had chosen to be part of a different team.  Plus, there were worse choices.
