SIXTEEN CANDLES
...🛶...
MOVIE nights had been a no-go for Heather on account of Dawson and Joey spending the entire time making out. She still hadn't told her brother of their parents conversation because he wouldn't hear it anyway, for he had been in his own movie-magic world with the Potter girl and Heather didn't want to be the one to ruin it.
The Leery girl was swapping out her books between classes sluggishly when Andie popped up beside her locker door making her jump "Jesus! You're like a Jack-in-the-Box."
"Sorry." The blonde smiled sheepishly before her eyebrows furrowed as she looked over the girl "Are you okay? You look exhausted."
"Just late nights with assignments, nothing I can't handle." She brushed her concern off "So, you need somethin'?"
Andie smiled hopefully, her hands clasped behind her back as she rocked on her heels "I was actually kinda hoping, I could maybe, sort of consider you my first official friend in Capeside?"
Heather raised an eyebrow but smiled teasingly "Well, I'm guess I am in the market for a friend. Joey is completely consumed with my brother and he her, and Jen, she's consumed with grief and avoiding all things my brother. And Pacey... well he's Pacey."
"Great." Andie beamed before her smile turned sheepish once more "So, as my friend do you think you could get Jack a job at The Icehouse? Busboy, waiter, one of those people who twirls a sign on the side of the road... really anything."
"Well, Bessie was talking about hiring somebody so uh, yeah, tell him to pop down later and ask for Joey." Heather nodded as she closed her locker "Say I sent him."
"Thank you!" Andie gushed, pulling her into a surprising hug "Thanks so much. You won't regret it."

HEATHER had decided to skip last period as she took a walk by the docks, but what she wasn't expecting was to find a sulking Pacey looking out into the water. She sighed as she plopped herself on top of the picnic table beside him "What's got you so bummed?" She nudged him when he didn't respond "Dawson told me you failed your drivers test."
He sighed out a little laugh "Yeah, that sucked, but I've got a bad case of the Molly Ringwalds."
"Well, let's see." She mused "In The Breakfast Club she gets detention, in Pretty in Pink she gets dumped before prom and in Sixteen Candles everyone forgets her birthday... Ah."
