LADIES NIGHT
...🛶...

THE air was tense in the Leery living-room and Gail was floundering for one of the girls to speak "Okay, what do you think is the most important issue facing teenagers today?" She looked around the room before holding her microphone out to the Potter girl "Joey!"

When Joey didn't speak, Gail smiled awkwardly before looking at the rest of the girls "Anyone else?" She looked to her daughter desperately "Honey?"

But Heather couldn't think. Not with Andie so close yet so far away.

Gail sighed and got to her feet "Jen, can I talk to you for a second?

"Sure, Gail."

As the pair headed out into the hall, Abby turned her attention to the camera man "That camera equipment looks really heavy. You must be built ram-tough."

"Naw, it's really not that heavy."

Andie sat forward from the armchair, looking desperately to Heather "Look, your mom asked me to come and I'm guessing you never told her about us. I came because I wanted to help her out... and because I wanted to see you. I really want us to be friends, Heather. I need you."

Heather was once again saved from responding to the McPhee girl as Gail and Jen returned "Okay, everyone listen up. Jen has this great idea. Instead of doing this interview right out of the gate, why don't we spend a little time bonding? You know, make it a Ladies Night."

"Ladies Night?" Abby scoffed and Heather tried to yell at her mother with her silent gaze "How long are we gonna be here?"

Andie smiled "Yeah, Abby's got to make the rounds on her broom."

Heather tried to hide her amusement as Abby shot the McPhee girl a look "And Andie's mom might start roaming the city, foaming at the mouth."

The Leery girl couldn't stay quiet and was quick to turn her glare to the Morgan girl "Oh that's enough you nasty little bitch."

"Hey, hey, hey!" Gail intervened, eyes wide in surprise as she glanced at her daughter "Let's just get to know one another a little better. Connect with one another as women, okay?"

Abby groaned "Oh, God, I'm going to need a drink."

"Is poison okay?" Heather gave her a sweet smile.

"No alcohol, but I do have enough junk food in that kitchen to fulfill anyone's cravings." Gail tried to tempt them "And it's all yours, if you bear with me."
