CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

SMEAR CAMPAIGN

STUDENT council elections were in full swing and Andie had tasked Heather with pinning up posters everywhere she could. So when Pacey found her covering up one of Abby and Chris' campaign by the bathrooms with her own he groaned "You're really running for student council president, huh?"

Heather rolled her eyes with a smile at Pacey's tone of disgust "Well, vice, but yes. Andie asked me to."

"Speaking of McPhee..." he raised an eyebrow as they paused at the end of the hallway "You know, just out of purely educational interest, what's that like? You know, kissing another girl?"

The Leery girl scoffed but shrugged with a little smile as she thought of the blonde "I don't know how to describe it, Pace... but kissing her is different. Her lips are so soft and she uses this spearmint chapstick that just, like, blows my mind and—" Heather paused as she noticed the boy's face screw up and her jaw clenched "Witter, I swear to God if you're turned on right now..."

"I can't help it." He rushed out in defence, moving his textbook to cover his crotch "It's just, well, you put this image in my head and—"

"Keep it there." She raised her hand to cut him off with wide eyes before shaking her head and walking away.

Pacey let out a groan before making a beeline to the boys bathroom, unaware of the figure that stepped out from around the corner, eyes staring after Heather's retreating back.

CANDIDATE speeches were due to begin after lunch and so Heather and Andie decided to spent the rest of the their time going over their issues and their campaign promises in an empty classroom "Okay, so I think we've covered all the important topics, but we can throw in a little first world issues like allowing Walkmans in study hall."

"You know, on this book that I picked up on the Clinton campaign, they said this things going to get ugly." Heather mused, pulling it from her backpack "So with Abby Morgan on the trail, we're going to have to start playing hard—"

"Heather."

The Leery girl paused as she looked to the blonde "Yeah?"

Andie smiled a little "You did research?"

"Well, yeah." She shrugged with furrowed eyebrow's "It was important to you."

The McPhee girl's mouth dropped a little as she stared at the girl before shaking her head with a smile "I want this campaign to take a high road. I still believe that a candidate's virtue and integrity is normal and to be expected and not just some character perk or bonus. I mean, my goal is to make government good and safe again."
