LIFE'S A BEACH
...🛶...
THE Leery twins had been avoiding all awkward interaction with their parents who were walking on eggshells around each other whilst trying to work on their marriage like their therapist suggested. But their parents relationship wasn't the only one in trouble, for Jen's ex-boyfriend had driven into town. The very one she was caught in her parents bed with and the catalyst of her exile to Capeside.
Heather had her music playing quietly in the background as she finished off her homework, ready to turn it up at a moments notice if the arguing downstairs got too loud. A knock on the window however had her glance over from her desk to see Joey climbing inside "Well, hello Romeo."
"He certainly had the right idea with the poison." The Potter girl grumbled "Remember that guy who went on the killing spree and was found innocent after claiming sleep deprivation?"
"Yeah, dude went postal." Heather recalled "Took out, like, half of that fast-food restaurant."
Joey groaned and rubbed her hands over her exhausted face "Well, I think I need to call his lawyer."
Heather looked to her sympathetically "Your darling nephew still working night shifts?"
"I swear to God, Heather, my sister gave birth to Rosemary's Baby." Joey complained "I mean, I haven't slept for days, and my GPA's taking a nosedive."
"I was witness to the pool of drool you got caught in in European History, remember?" Heather tried not to smile at the memory "But don't worry, you still looked pretty. And crash here. For as long as you want."
Joey perked up "You sure?"
"Yep, the price however is you have to be my date to Cliff Elliot's beach party tomorrow night."
The Potter girl scoffed as she slipped off her shoes and climbed on top of Heather's bed "I don't think I can afford that."
"Please?" Heather gave her infamous puppy eyes "Grant will be there and I can't show up alone."
Joey sighed "Can't you take Pacey for that?"
"No, Jen's got plans with Billy the Kid so he's Dawson's date." Heather snorted "Come on, we can dance, maybe make out a little..."
"Heather!" Joey scoffed in amusement, tossing a throw pillow at her across the room "So uh, speaking of Jen ex-beau... what's he like?"
Heather chuckled as she held onto the pillow "Pretty cute but he's a jerk. And he's staying in Dawson's room."
Joey sat up in disbelief "No."
