Chapter 49: Big brother

Rory had called later the same day we found out we were expecting and they scheduled her appointment. This time she would be placed at high risk after miscarrying the last baby. She was a little nervous but Dr. Adams had already warned us and said that once we conceived we would be referred to a high-risk specialist. 

Rory was pacing all over the house our first appointment is in a couple of hours and she is very nervous. I mean I am as well more so about losing another baby. That would destroy us both the loss of one child was hard but if she miscarries again. I know she will refuse to try again and I know she has her heart set on a Gilmore girl and I promised her I would give her a little Gilmore girl and by damn I am going to keep that promise.

I finally grabbed her wrist as she was walking by and pulled her into my lap. "Calm down baby. Stress isn't good for our baby. Everything is going to be fine. We have done everything and more than we were advised for a healthy pregnancy."

"I know Tris. I am just really afraid and worried about losing another child." She looked down as a tear rolled down her cheek.

I took the pad of my thumb and dried the tear and pulled her closer to me. "I know Mare, trust me I know the fear is there and will be until the baby is born and healthy. We are in this together and no matter what we will get through anything that happens together. Remember Dr. Adams said that once we get the appointment with the specialist that they will do ultrasounds every appointment?"

"Yes, I remember. I am glad we will not only have Dr. Adams but the specialist as well to ensure we have a healthy baby. This time is going to be more stressful than with Michael because we will have not one but two doctors and have to go twice a week to both after sixteen weeks. I don't care I will go every day to both doctors as long as we will have a healthy baby."

"I know Mare. I agree and we will do everything to ensure a healthy baby including you resting during the pregnancy. For the next eight months or so you my lovely wife are going to be waited on hand and foot. You are going to take it easy and relax. I will do everything and Michael can help take care of you, which will make his day. He loves to help."

"I know and yes I will baby. I promised that I would rest and relax as much as possible. As well as not holding Michael while standing only when I am sitting down. That is going to be the hardest part is not picking my handsome little man up."   

"I know and we have talked and explained to Michael why you can't pick him up and carry him around until after the baby is born and you recover from the birth. Now, you go take a shower and get ready so we can confirm it and see our baby."

"Okay, baby. I love you Tristan thank you for calming me down."She kissed him a passionate kiss and then went upstairs to take a shower.

She stripped down and started the shower. She brushed her teeth and then went to the shower. She stepped inside and let the heat from the water relax her muscles and all the built-up tension from worrying so much.  

She stood under the water and didn't move until she was completely relaxed. She washed and conditioned her hair and then washed her body. She turned the water off and stepped out. She dried off and went to the bedroom to get dressed.

Tristan was sitting on the bed waiting for her to finish. She kinda jumped and was startled when she saw him sitting there.

"Tristan Michael Dugray. You about gave me a heart attack. What are you doing sitting there?"

"I just figured while Michael is down for his nap I could shower once you finished and thought I would enjoy the show of watching you get dressed. I even got some twenty dollar bills ready." 

"Well, normally people pay to see the clothes go off not on. If that is what you want then who am I to argue with you." She stood up with the towel wrapped around her body.
