Chapter 53: Almost time to welcome the new baby

Almost two weeks later (August 28, 2020):

Rory had not been sleeping very well. She was really uncomfortable and still had three weeks left. She could barely walk or stand because her back hurt so bad. Her boobs felt like they were about ready to pop and she had been leaking breastmilk for the last week. 

Tristan was rubbing her back while Finn, Logan, Colin, and Robert waited on her hand and foot. They soaked her feet and put a heating pad on her back. She was miserable. 

"Hey, baby this will all be over soon. I know you are uncomfortable and I am so sorry. I will do anything to ease the pain."

"I know Tristan and we planned this. I am just so uncomfortable and my back has been killing me all night and all day today. I mean pain not just like normal down in my lower back."

"Hold on the pain has increased since yesterday? You didn't tell me that it had gotten worse and it was all in your lower back. Mare baby, I think you could be in labor, and that you have been since the pain increased. How often does the pain increase?"

"I don't know it was maybe every ten minutes or so and now maybe every three or four minutes. Oh my gosh, I am in labor!"

"I think you are sweetheart. Look let's time them just to be sure. Tell me the next time it increases and we will start the clock when it ends until the next one hits. Hey, guys can you get our bags down here, please? The car seat is already in the car. I just need our bag and the baby's bag." 

"Sure, Mate." Finn and the guys headed upstairs and grabbed their bags, their chargers, Rory's purse, and Tristan's wallet and keys. They put the bags by the door and handed Tristan his wallet, keys, and Rory's purse. 

"Thanks, guys. She is in active labor, her contractions are about two and a half minutes apart. I am going to need someone to drive us in my car to the hospital and then someone to pick him up of course."

Logan agreed to drive them and Robert was going to follow and pick Logan up. They loaded into their Escalade and Tristan sat in the middle seat with Rory. Logan sped off toward the hospital. Tristan had his keys and Logan drove with the spare set.

Logan pulled up out front. He jumped out and grabbed the bags and his mask. Tristan and Rory had their masks on and Tristan was trying to help her out. Logan walked to the entrance.

"Can we get a wheelchair fast? My friend is in active labor."

"Yes sir. You can't be in here please step outside." He did as asked.

"Alright Ror, we will all be waiting for news after the baby is born. Take care and know we all love you. Congrats Tristan take care of our girl."

"Thanks, man, and I will. Just park the car and take those keys home and put them on the hook. I have mine. We will see you all in a few days. Let's go have a baby." 

The nurse loaded Rory up and Tristan carried their bags. The nurse took them straight to the maternity floor. She wheeled them directly into a private suite and birthing room. We had this room on hold for the last week until she went into labor. Well, Finn did since his family had donated so much to the hospital.

"Change her into a gown and wait for the on-call doctor until her doctor arrives. The nurse will be in shortly to take your vitals and then hook up the monitor. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Dugray on your new arrival." She left.

Tristan walked over and helped Rory up. He undressed her and dressed her in the gown just as he was tying the straps in the back her water broke.

"Well, it's official we will be bringing our little boy home. Now, let me grab a new gown since you just soaked through this one."
