Love Spells

Love are serious and should not be taken lightly. They can backfire and create a lot of problems. Piper and Phoebe discovered this firsthand when they cast a love spell early on the season.

At first things seemed to work out perfectly; Phoebe met a handsome, muscular man named Hans at Quake and they spent the night together having "lots and lots of safe sex". Piper meanwhile finally gets noticed by a regular customer at Quake named Jack who asks her to have dinner with him, while another customer invites her to fly to Paris. 

Piper has dinner with Jack and tries her best to deter him to see if his interest is real and goes beyond the spell but he is insistent. He kisses her. During their date Piper is inundated by several other guys at the restaurant trying to get her attention and she realises the spell is starting to go awry. 

Later, Phoebe returns home to find the house full of bouquets of flowers. Piper explains that some are from men they know while most are from guys they've never even met. Even Kit the cat has horny tomcats harassing her. Phoebe explains that Hans was all over her during their date and so she ditched him at the club. She and Piper decide to undo the spell but before they can Hans bursts through the door, angry and violent. 

In his outburst Hans unknowingly describes exactly what happens when a love spell goes wrong, saying that ever since he met Phoebe he can't eat, can't drink, can't sleep, can't do anything but think about her.  If a love spell has too much intensity in energy when  cast it can quickly develop from romantic pursuit to dangerous obsession as a person under the power of a love spell can become singular, obsessive and very dangerous in their desire for the intended. 

Piper froze Hans before he could attack them and she and Phoebe reversed the spell, restoring all back to normal and none of their would-be suitors remembered anything that transpired. Needless to say, the sisters had learnt their lesson about taking caution when it came to love spells.
