Chapter 30

Sorry, I haven't posted a chapter in a while. We're trying to get internet as fast as we can. I hope you enjoy this chapter.

(Robert's 1st Day Gone: Tuesday) Andy's 31 Weeks and 4 Days... When Andy woke up, she was missing Robert but was happy when she saw Maya in bed beside her. When she saw Maya, she went back to sleep. After a little bit, she woke back up and went to the nursery. While she was in the nursery she called Robert, and they talked till Maya came and found her. After that, Andy said goodbye to Robert, and then both Andy and Maya went downstairs. While they were downstairs, Andy invited Vic over.

Andy invited Vic over because, in a couple of days, she has her 32-week appointment for baby girl. She invited Vic over, so she could ask both her and Maya to come to her appointment. It took about an hour, but Vic finally made it to their house.

Andy, Vic, and Maya Conversation...Andy: Hey. I was wondering if you guys would come to my 32-week appointment in a couple of days. I don't want to go alone. Maya: I would love to. Vic: Sure. I'll come. Andy: Thanks.: End of Conversation After that, they all had a pretty calm day.

(Robert's 3rd Day Gone: Thursday) Andy's 31 Weeks and 6 Days... Yesterday, there was a shift, so Andy was alone most of the day. So she just talked to Robert some. Her appointment is around one in the afternoon, and she is going to pick to up, but Vic is going to meet her there. While Robert is gone, Maya has moved in to be with Andy.

They meet at the doctor's office around 12:30 in the afternoon. When they got there, Andy checked in and then headed to a room. This is the first time that they will hear baby girls heartbeat. When Carina came into the room, she checked everything.

Conversation... Carina: So baby's heartbeat is good and you are where you're supposed to be. Do you have any concerns? Andy: Yes. For the past few days, I've been having horrible cramps, they range from five minutes apart to a couple of hours apart. However lately they are getting closer together and more painful. I've been thinking that they're braxton hicks, but I'm not sure anymore. Carina: Those don't sound like braxton hacks, so I'm going to send you to labor and delivery to be monitored and to get checked. Give us a moment, to call up there. Andy: Okay. Maya: Why didn't you tell us? Andy: Because I just thought it was nothing. (They head to labor and delivery. They put Andy on the fetal machine and they monitor the contractions and baby's heart rate. After a little bit Carina comes in and checks Andy.) Carina: So Andy, you are 1.5cm dilated and 30% effaced. I'm going to come back in about three hours to check you again. For now, we shouldn't be worried. Andy: Okay.: End of Conversation After that, they all hanged out and talked until Carina came back.

A Couple of Hours Later... Carina has come back, she checked her, and they talked.

Conversation... Carina: So Andy, you are now at 2.5cm, and 40% effaced. The monitor has picked up some constant contractions. You're in preterm labor. So we are going to admit you. Andy: Should I be worried? Carina: Not at the moment. We're going to start you on some medicines to make the labor stop and help the baby's lungs develop. We're going to admit you and put you on bed rest. The best thing is that you are 31 weeks, which means the baby has developed a lot. Andy: Okay. (Carina leaves the room.) Vic: Should we call Sullivan? Andy: No, because he would be on the next flight out, and he's needed in Portland. He'll be home in a couple of days. We'll call him if I go past 6cm. Maya: Okay. Vic: I'm going to call Lucas and see if he can come up. Andy: Okay. You should also call the team and ask them to come up. Maya: Okay. I'll call the team and Vic can call Ripley. Vic: Okay.: End of Conversation After that, Maya went and texted the team, and Vic called Lucas.

(Maya's Text: Hey y'all. I need y'all to come up to Grey-Sloan, I will explain why when you get here.) After Maya sent that text, everyone responded and said that they are on the way.

Vic and Lucas's Phone Call... Vic: Hey. You need to come to Grey-Sloan. I can't tell you why, but I'm fine. Lucas: Okay. Love you. Vic: Love you too.: End of Phone Call After that, the whole team and Lucas were at Grey-Sloan within an hour.

When everyone got there, they were worried and wanted to know why they were there. So, they were all in the waiting room, and Maya brought all of them to Andy. Then Vic brought Lucas to Andy. When the team came in and saw Andy in bed with a fetal monitor on, and Andy knew she has to explain everything.

Conversation... Lucas: What's going on? Travis: Is everything alright? Andy: Yes, we are good. I had my 32-week appointment today, and I told my doctor about some cramps that I've been having and she sent me here, and it turns out my body is in preterm labor. Dean: Wow. Lucas: Does Robert know Andy: No, he doesn't. He'll be home in a couple of days. I will tell him when he gets home. So Lucas, could you pick Robert up at the airport? Lucas: Yes, I can. Travis: So, what are they doing to stop the labor? Andy: They've put me on medicines to stop my labor, and help make baby girls lungs develop. However, I'll be in the hospital for a few days to monitor me and the baby. We are both good and healthy. Lucas: Okay. I'll check on you guys later. Andy: Okay. Y'all, please, don't tell Robert. Team: We won't.: End of Conversation After everyone left, Vic and Maya stayed behind in her room and talked to Andy about stuff.

Conversation... Vic: So, we aren't going to leave you alone until Sullivan gets back. The team will take shifts staying with you. Andy: You guys don't need to. Maya: Sullivan, wouldn't want you alone. Vic: So, we're staying. Andy: Okay.: End of Conversation After that, Vic and Maya set up a schedule for people hanging with Andy.
