Montana

Chapter 5

Here's the chapter. I hope everyone is having a good day and is well.

*In this chapter Andy and Robert have been together for about 6 weeks.

Andy was still asleep when Maya got home, from a shift. When Maya got home, she went straight to bed. At about 11 in the morning, both Andy and Maya got up. When Andy gets up, she always checks her phone, and she had a text from Robert. Even when Robert's on shift, and is coming off he will text her. His text said: "Good morning beautiful. I love you. Really wish that you were going to be home when I get there, six days till we see one another again." End of Text Andy was really missing Robert after she saw his text. Seeing that text made her day a little bit better, and she just smiled. She responded saying: "I love you too. Wish I was there with you. I'm counting the minutes till I get to kiss you again." End of Text. After a little bit, she came out of her room and made coffee. When the coffee was done, that's when Maya came out of her room. After they woke up some, they hanged out on the couch and talked. While they were talking, they decided that they were going to hang out with the whole team at Dean's, this evening. They also talked about how everything was going in Montana, but Andy didn't mention Robert.

After a few hours, they headed over to Dean's. Andy didn't drink much, which was strange, but over the past 3 months, Andy hasn't been drinking much, so she didn't realize that she wasn't drinking. After a little bit, she got a call from Robert and went into Jack's room to take it. Every time Andy hears his voice, she's just at ease. They talked for about 10 minutes, and then she went back out. After a few hours, they all went home. Andy was really excited about her shift, in two days from now.

*Andy's been in Seattle for about 4 days when it's time for her shift.

Andy was super excited about her shift as captain. She was super excited for calls because she hasn't been on many calls in the past 2 ½ months. She came in early because she was due to have a meeting with Ripley. The meeting is about who would take over if she were to say no to captain in six months.

Andy, Gibson, and Ripley Conversation... Ripley: Hey Andy. Are you excited for your first shift as captain? Andy: Yeah, but I really miss Robert. Since you know about the contract, I'm going to tell Gibson, before the shift starts. Ripley: Okay. (They page Gibson to the captain's office.) Gibson: You paged? Andy: Yes. We need to talk to you. Gibson: About what? Andy: The captain's position. Gibson: Okay. What about it? Andy: Last week, I signed a contract with Chief Wilson in Montana. In that contract, I will be there for six months with them. So both me and Ripley have agreed if you want you will be captain of 19 for those six months. Gibson: Okay, but who will be captain after those six months. Ripley: We don't know, but the captain will be decided by the end of five months. Gibson: Okay. When are you going to tell the team? Andy: Tonight, at dinner. Gibson: Okay.: End of Conversation

After they finished talking they had a nice and easy shift. There have been a couple of car wrecks, a big fire, a mini fire, but otherwise, it has been quiet. The team was glad it was quiet, but Andy wanted some action. While she was in the captain's office doing paperwork, she got a call from Robert checking on her.

Andy and Robert Conversation... Robert: Hey. How are you doing being the captain? Andy: It's quiet. There have been a couple of car wrecks, a mini fire, and fire. The fire was not like the warehouse we did. Robert: Man, that was a fun fire. Andy: Yeah, but the team is glad it's quiet. Robert: Did you tell Ripley about the contract? Andy: Yes. Gibson will be captain for the next six months, and the captain will be decided at the end of the fifth month. I will be telling the team tonight at dinner. Robert: Okay. I love you. Andy: I love you too, bye.

After Andy hanged up with Robert, she came out of the office, and hanged out with the team, at dinner. At dinner, they talked about everything.

Team Talking... Andy: Guys, I have signed a contract with the Missoula County Fire Department for the next six months. After the training exercise, I made a good impression on the fire chief, so he made me in charge of training firefighters. So that means for the next six months Jack will be captain, and the new captain will be decided by the end of the fifth month. Maya: Okay, but are you going to come back after the end of the sixth month. Andy: I'm planning too. Do you guys have any questions about Montana? Vic: Yes, what was the coolest thing you did?

Andy: The coolest thing I did, was a four-alarm fire. It was a quiet day at the station, if you're not in training, you will be at the station. When you are at the station, you will only be going out, when there is a big fire, or when your captain needs you too. So we were inspecting fire hydrants when we came across a four-alarm fire. It hadn't been reported yet, so when we arrived a dude came running out of the building and told us that there were people inside. We only had our gear, no bottles, so we went inside, and by the time the first firetruck arrived, we saved 10 people. That was the funniest thing I have ever done. The Team: Wow.: End of Conversation

They talked for a while, and then they went to bed. It was an uneventful night.

After the shift, Andy went home rested, and then went to her doctor's office to get some blood work done. So she was in and out. After her appointment, she went back to Maya's and her apartment. She was so excited to be going back to Montana in two days, she just couldn't wait.
