Chapter 7

Hello. Since everyone keeps asking me to post a chapter, I'm now going to start posting twice a week, but there might be some weeks where I only post once. I will now be posting on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but if I only post once it will come out on Wednesday. I hope you enjoy the chapter.

Andy's 8 Weeks and 3 Days... The person from the rental car place came by and dropped the car. Andy did text Robert to let him know that she was renting a car. He was glad that she was going to try and get out of the house. Now, all Andy had to figure out, was how she was going to tell Robert. She knew it was going to be best to tell him by talking, but she did want to be a frame for the ultrasound picture. So after the rental car arrived, she took the person back to the rental car place, and she went to the store and got the picture frame.

That evening she just relaxed and talked to Robert on the phone, while he was doing paperwork.

Andy's 8 Weeks and 4 Days... Andy couldn't wait for Robert to get home in the morning. She always sleeps well, while he is holding her, and she can just imagine Robert holding her, with her big belly, and his hands on it. When he came thru the door, she knew that it was now or never, because she just really needed to tell him.

Andy and Robert Conversation... (Robert comes thru the door.) Robert: Hey. I'm home. Where are you? Andy: Living room. We need to talk. Robert: Okay. About what? Andy: I got some news while I was in Seattle. Robert: Okay. Is it bad? Andy: That depends. Robert: Okay. (Andy hands him a box, with the ultrasound picture in it. When he opens the box Andy says: I'm pregnant. When Robert hears that he's shocked for about 30 seconds, but then he gets the hugest smile on his face.) Robert: Really? Andy: Yes. As part of the Seattle fire department, you have to have your blood drawn every six to eight months, to make sure that you haven't inhaled anything, so since I didn't know when my last period was, they added that, when it came back, I was just in shock. Are you really happy? Robert: Yes. I have always wanted kids, I thought I had lost that dream when Claire died, but with you, I feel like it's meant to be. (After he said that they kissed.) Andy: Since I'm pregnant, I guess you need to meet my father. Robert: Yep. Have you told the team about us yet? Andy: Nope. Robert: Why? Andy: I don't know. I love you, and them knowing about us isn't going to change the way I feel. They think I'm down here teaching, and being a firefighter. However, Jack does know that I am dating someone, but not who. Robert: Okay. Andy: I have to go to the training hall tomorrow, and then I have to go in for a full checkup with the ob/gyn my doctor set me up with, to make sure that everything is good. The doctor in Seattle said that I should have another ultrasound when I am 12ish weeks. Robert: Okay. I love you. Andy: I love you too. Are you actually happy? Robert: Yes, extremely. Andy: Okay. I guess I should tell Chief Wilson, but not yet. Robert: Yes, you should, but later. I will look into the protocol for being pregnant.

That night, when Andy went to bed, Andy felt at ease, because Robert knew that she was pregnant. She was finally happy and excited to be a mother. She knew that Robert wanted to be a father and that he was excited. So she went to bed, happy, and at ease.

Andy's 8 Weeks and 5 Days... When Andy woke up, she was happy. She woke up happy because Robert knew, and he wanted that baby. When she woke up, she got ready to go to the training hall. Robert knew that she had to go to the training hall this morning, so he got up, and kissed her goodbye.

When Andy got to the training hall, she walked in and had no idea what to expect. When she walked inside she found her head training officer, Captain Hopper. When she saw him, she was confused but went up to him. When she saw him, she didn't know what to expect. When she came in, they said "Hi" and then he gave her a briefing.

Captain Hopper's Briefing: You are going to be in charge of the Rapid Intervention Team training since that was your strong area. You will also be a fill-in if needed for EMS training.

Andy and Captain Hopper's Conversation... Andy: Okay. When will I start? Captain Hopper: The first training class arrives in two weeks. You will have 3 classes to train. The thing is that you'll be doing it in the smoke building, but without the smoke. One of the classes will be firefighters. Andy: Okay. Captain Hopper: Any more questions? Andy: When do I come in for the first time? Captain Hopper: You will start a week before the first training class. During that week, you will be instructing the teachers on what you know. Andy: Okay. Captain Hopper: You can do shifts if you would like. If you do shifts, you should know that you will be on ambulance duty only. Andy: Okay. Captain Hopper: Do you have any other questions? Andy: Yes, who will my commanding officer be here. Captain Hopper: Here at the training area, I will be your supervisor, but since Captain Sullivan put in that his old fire chief set you guys up, you will be at the station I captain on A shift like he is at the other station. Andy: Okay. I think I got everything. Captain Hopper: Okay. It was nice to see you again. If you have any questions, give me a call. Andy: You too. Okay. Thanks. See you next week.: End of Conversation

After they finished talking, Andy looked around the training center. After a bit, she left, and headed to her doctor's office, for the exam. At the exam, they drew some blood, an exam, and got her full medical history. After they finished, they scheduled Andy for another checkup at 12 weeks, along with an ultrasound. After Andy finished everything she went home to Robert, and they talked about the training hall.
