Chapter 37

Claire's A Couple Hours Old... In less than an hour: Mark, Elle, and Chase were all at the hospital. When they got there, Andy was on the postpartum floor. So, Andy gave them her room number, and they all came up to see Andy.

Conversation... Mark: Oh my goodness, she's so beautiful. Andy and Robert: Thank you. Robert: Andy, I'm going to get some food. I'll be back. Andy: Okay. Love you. (They kiss.) Elle: Why didn't you tell us that you were in labor? Andy: The team doesn't know that I was in labor or that I had her, yet. Chase: Wow. Andy: Mark, you are the first one beside Maya and Robert to hold her. (After that, Andy hands her to Mark.) Andy: I would like to introduce you to Claire Zoey. I choose Claire because of Robert's past and Robert chooses Zoey. Zoey actually means life. Mark: That's a beautiful name. (They all hand her around.) Elle: We leave tomorrow afternoon, so I'll probably come to see you tomorrow morning. Andy: Okay. Mark: I'll be back this evening or tomorrow morning. Andy: Okay. Elle: Call and tell the team, they deserve to know. I'll tell everyone back in Montana. Andy: Okay. (They all take a ton of pictures and Mark sends one to his wife.) Andy: I love you guys. Mark: Good job, mama. See you later. Andy: Okay. Love y'all.: End of Conversation

Meanwhile, Maya's been resting in Andy's room, and Robert went to eat when they arrived. When they left, Maya was still asleep, and Robert came back. Andy decided that she was going to call Lucas, and then Vic. It's a shift day, so the news will probably spread quickly, and they'd likely see them soon.

Conversation... Lucas: Hey Andy. How's it going? Andy: I have a beautiful, healthy baby girl. Lucas: What?! Andy: I had the baby today. She's about three hours old. Lucas: I'm on my way. Andy: Okay. I'm about to call Vic. Lucas: Okay.: End of Conversation After that, Andy called Vic.

Phone Call... Vic: Hey, girl. What's up? Andy: Nothing much, just breastfeeding the baby. Vic: Okay. (Andy waits for Vic to realize what she said.) Vic: What?! Did you have the baby? Andy: Yes, I did. Please, tell the team. Vic: Okay, we're on the way.: End of Conversation After that, Vic hangs up and she goes and tells everyone.

When Vic told the team, everyone was very excited, and they all headed to the hospital. Lucas and the team made it to the hospital about the same time. When they got there, they were all put in a waiting room and were told to call Andy and Robert to get their room number. When everyone got there, Maya and Andy were asleep, and Robert was with Claire getting a hearing test. So, they had no clue that the team was in the waiting room. When Robert came back to Andy's room, he found that the team whole team had called him once and Lucas called him a couple of times. Plus, everyone had texted. Also, when he left with Claire, Andy was awake, and now she's asleep. He hated to wake her up, but he had to. So he woke up Andy.

Conversation... Robert: Hey, Andy. We're back, the teams here in the waiting room, and Claire's hungry. Andy: Okay. Give me the nursing cover and boppy, give me a minute, and then go get the team. Robert: Okay. Should I wake Maya? Andy: No. She looks so peaceful. She didn't get any sleep last night, but we did. Robert: Okay. (Andy starts to feed Claire, while Robert sits down for a minute, and when he gets up to go get the team, Maya starts to wake up. When Robert made it to the waiting room, everyone was there and excited to see him.) Maya: Hey. What's going on? Andy: The team is here. Maya: What? I thought Mark, Elle, and Chase were coming. Andy: They did. As soon as you laid down, you were out. So, you missed them. The team is now here. Maya: Okay. (Robert came back with the team. When he got back: Maya was awake, and Claire was still eating.) Andy: Hey, everyone. (When Andy said that, they all looked for Claire.) Vic: Where is she? Andy: Eating. Since you guys are here, I decided to cover up. Lucas: Thank you. Andy: Give me a few minutes to finish feeding her. Vic: So, how did this go down? Andy: I actually went into labor, yesterday when you brought me to the station to get married. Vic: What?! Why, didn't you tell us? Andy: I don't know. I really didn't think about telling everyone. I didn't want to ruin the day. Y'all worked so hard to plan everything. I also didn't think to tell y'all. Maya: However, Sullivan and I noticed the contractions. So we kept track of the contractions. Andy: About five in the evening, I had enough, we went home, grabbed my bags, and headed to the hospital. Carina confirmed that I'm in labor, I called Maya, and then I labored until morning. Then I had the baby a little after nine this morning.

After Andy finished that sentence, Claire finished eating. When she finished, Andy asked everyone to turn around, and they did. Lucas was very grateful that Andy asked everyone to turn around. After Andy covered herself up, Andy had everyone turn back around, and she started to burp the baby.

Vic: Oh my, goodness. She's so precious. (Andy hands Claire to Robert.) Robert: Everyone, this is our daughter Claire Zoey Herrera Sullivan. Andy: She was born at 9:17 this morning. She's 7lb 9oz, and 19 inches long. (When Lucas heard the first name, he was speechless. When Robert saw Lucas's face, he handed Claire to him. Andy knew how special the name Claire is to Robert and Lucas.) Lucas: Hello, Claire. Nice to meet you. (Lucas has tears in his eyes.): End of Conversation After that, they all handed her around. The order was: Lucas, Vic, Travis, Jack, Dean, and then Warren. After a few minutes, Miranda came in.
