Chapter 17

Andy's 25 Weeks and 6 Days... It's Saturday afternoon. Yesterday, at the airport they decided to rent a car until Andy gets her car, and Robert buys one. When Robert came into the nursery and saw Andy sitting in the rocking chair, he smiled. When Andy noticed him, he came over and kissed her. After that, they went downstairs to the kitchen, and Robert made lunch. While he was cooking, Andy decided to tell him about Lucas's phone call.

Andy and Robert Conversation... Andy: So, Lucas had me call him this morning for something about your introduction. Robert: What about? Andy: He wants me to come with you on Tuesday, because he wants me to introduce you, and he wants the team to see me for some reason. Robert: Okay. So are you going? Andy: Yes, because he asked me too. I now have to find a big shirt, to cover my belly, and make it unnoticeable. Robert: Okay. Well, the car is supposed to come between one and two. So, I guess that we're going out. Andy: Yep, we will also be stopping at the grocery store. Robert: Agreed. How are you feeling after the news you got yesterday, from Lucas? About Vic. Andy: Honestly, I am shocked. I don't get how, all of it happened, but if she's happy, I'm happy. Robert: Okay. Are you excited to see your team? Andy: A little bit, but mostly worried. I've missed them, but I know that there will be a lot of questions. Robert: Agreed.: End of Conversation

After they finished lunch, the car showed up. A little bit later, they got ready and left the house. They headed to a couple of stores to find Andy a big shirt, after they did some grocery shopping, and then headed home.

Andy's 27 Weeks and 2 Days... It's now Monday. Robert woke up first, so he headed downstairs to make breakfast. Robert made a routine, where the day before the first shift of the week, he'd make Andy breakfast. After a little bit, Andy came down for breakfast. After breakfast, they just hung out all day and relaxed all day.

Andy's 27 Weeks and 3 Days... It's now Tuesday. It's the day of Robert's first shift. They got up about 6:30 in the morning. Robert usually starts his morning, even if Andy's still asleep, by feeling his daughter kick. She always kicks when Andy's laying down. Robert thinks it's cool, but Andy doesn't. When he does that, it makes his day. When Andy woke up this morning she was anxious because she hasn't seen the team in seven months. In less than a couple of hours, she'll see them again.

When Andy got up, she was scared and anxious to see them again. She was worried that the team would find out about Robert and the baby. She also knew that when the team saw her after she left there would be a lot of texts and calls from them. The only reason that Andy was going to Robert's introduction, was because Lucas wanted her there. So she got dressed in the big shirt she got yesterday and put her ring in her bedside drawer. Then they left for the station. Andy knew it would be weird for showing up with Robert, but she didn't really care.

When they arrived at the station, Lucas meets them outside. Before they could be seen, since baby girl was active, Robert felt her kick, for the last time for 24 hours. They met with Lucas where they couldn't be seen with him. When they arrived at the station, Lucas greeted them.

Andy, Robert, Jack, and Lucas Conversation... Lucas: So, how are you guys feeling about today? Andy: I am anxious, and excited at the same time. Robert: I am scared that I will let the secret slip and scared. I am scared because I haven't been a firefighter in Seattle for about 8 years, so I don't what has changed. Lucas: Okay. What do you think about meeting your team? Robert: I am scared. Lucas: So, Jack has requested to meet with me and the new captain. How do you feel about that? Andy: Before or after the introduction? Lucas: Before. I told him last week, that we had a captain, and that he would be coming on Tuesday's shift, and he wanted to meet whoever the new captain was. All he knows it isn't Andy, and for he knows you are still in Montana for a longer time. Andy: Okay. So what do we do? Lucas: I am going to have him come to this spot, and Andy I want you to stay. Andy: Okay. (When Andy heard that, she was scared, but was happy to see someone from the team. After Lucas told her that, he went to get Jack. Lucas came back about five minutes later with Jack. When Lucas came back with Jack, Jack was shocked to see Andy in front of him.) Jack: What are you doing here? I thought you were in Montana. Andy: I am back, but not ready for anyone to know that I am back. Jack: Okay. Andy: I would like to introduce you to our new captain Robert Sullivan, and he's a good captain. He really cares about his team. Jack: Nice to meet you, sir. Andy, how are you doing? Andy: Good, my life has changed a lot over the past few months in Montana, and it's been hard to process. So I've just needed some time to myself for a little bit. Lucas: Jack, do you have any questions for your new captain? Jack: Not really. Lucas: Okay. Can you please go gather the team? Jack: Yes, I can. (After that, Jack went and gathered the team.) Lucas: Are you guys ready for this? Robert: Ready, as we can ever be.

(After that, the three of them walked around to the front. When the team saw Andy they were completely shocked.) Lucas: Hello, everyone. I know everyone found out last week that a new captain was coming, and it wasn't Andy, so I would like to introduce you to your new Captain Robert Sullivan.

Andy: I know everyone is surprised to see me, but Lucas asked me to be here to introduce your new captain. So here he is. His name is Robert Sullivan. He was my first captain before I was transferred to another station. He has a certain way that he is with his team. He will protect you, worry about you, and he will eventually become your family. During the eight weeks, before I was transferred, he became my family. He is someone you can put your life in, and I hope you do.

After that, the team went around and introduced themselves. After that, they all went inside.
