If I look back
At my eighteen years of life
I would say I do not have many regrets
Except for one
One which had
Completely changed my lifeFor I will forever envy
Those who possess the grit
And those who have chosen
To go on with the aches and the pains
To go on with the lingerings of sadness
To go on despite the aftermath
Of something called heartbreakFor it so very stupidly
Seems almost as though
I simply cannot move on and forget
Anything,
Anything to do with you
For you leaving me
Has turned the "I" into some sort of foolish foolAnd as much as I'd hate to admit this
But yes it is true
For I have turned into
That girl who simply cannot move on
And let go
For even when I slip off
Into a slumber of desperate hopes
To finally be able and escape
Far away from your shadow
You somehow always find a way
To haunt behind my now dreary dreams
And it sadly seems as though
That this is my mournful fate
For I have been that foolish fool
Who has placed my entire worth
Solely onto you
