A Letter To My High School Class

We laughed
And we embraced
And we wept
As we parted ways
To my class of twenty nineteen
Thank you for the memories
You have given me
To the ones
We have made

For all the times
Where we were stressed
Perhaps crying over subjects
Like dreaded Maths
You were there to give a hug
As well as a helping hand
Especially when things seemed to be
An awful, endless mess

I know that we have now
Gone down very different paths
And you are probably
Perhaps even moving on from the past

But I still reminisce
In the days of our old class trips
The ones slightly faded
Marked by sandy footprints
And swept away by
The cool tides of the sea
Memories swimming in the ocean
Waiting for yours (us) truly

Oh, I still remember
The walks of the late nights
The ones we had back in Seoul
Oh, what lovely times!
With the cool wind and the white snow
And the midnight games
Playing as though there was no tomorrow
And the bumpy bus rides bringing us to and fro
I still remember them
As though they had happened
Not too long ago

To my class of twenty nineteen
This is no secret message of mine
In order for me to show
That I miss you all so very dearly
So much that it hurts more than just my heart
For the memories have seemed
To have stolen a piece of my soul

However I am glad
That I still have your contacts
And that we still have our daily
Calls as well as texts
I know that you are busy
With college life and its horrible exams
But I believe that one day
When the rush all finally
Comes to an end
We will go back to the places
To collect our memories
And think back of our youthful days
Where money
And jobs
And perhaps even starting a family
Seemed all so very far away

I know that this was not
My very best
For I still honestly struggle
To fully express
But I hope you know
That I will always be
Waiting for you
If you ever need me
To give you a hug
Or a helping help
Just like how you have done for me
Back in the past;
Back in the faraway then
