How I absolutely hate that phrase.
No,
I despise it
For all love does
Is drain me down a rushing river;
Drowning me down
A whirlpool of horrors
Down...
Down...
Down...
Deeper and deeper and deeper
For once my heart has been captured
You will hold it
And squeeze it;
Steal it
Tightening your suffocating grip across
Until the very last breath of air
Can barely be gasped through
Before I fall under your
Silent round of deafening applause
For I have allowed you
To win your stupid little game
With you fully knowing
I would be too weak;
Weakened by the hold
Of your eyes;
Your mesmerising yet piercing gazeAnd yet,
I still will believe
(And that will always be the case)
In the phrase
(The one in which I absolutely hate)
It is the one that my heart,
The one you have not only stabbed,
But also pierced by your raining arrows
Being shot across
For you have been treating
The shaken beats of my heart
As a target for your endless
Rounds of a game starting
With the four letters of A-R-C-HOh,
I have been so stupid and so naive
And so much so of a feather-headed young girl
Fooled by someone she still cherishes so much
Too much
For I should harden my heart
But with you,
The phrase I despise
Is the one in which
You have stolen from within
My crushed
And shattered
And forever broken soul
As well as heart...
