chapter 5

"IMPOSSIBLE." Susan said barely just above a whisper as her and Peter stood up and looked around at the beautiful forest in front of them.

"Don't worry, its probably just your imagination." Lucy said coming out from behind them. They both suddenly started to feel bad for thinking she was crazy as it was proven she was not.

"I don't suppose saying we're sorry would quite cover it?" Peter said.

"No-" Lucy started to say but then hit a snow ball in his face. "-but that might." 

They all started laughing and throwing snow balls at each other. They didn't seem to notice that Edmund wasn't playing along and was staring at the hills. That was before a snowball hit Ed and he shouted ow and rubbed his. That's when they noticed he wasn't joining in and that he had lied to them.

"You little liar!" Peter shouted.

"You didn't believe her either." Edmund snapped.

"Apologise to Lucy." when Edmund didn't saying anything he grew angry. "Say you're sorry!"

"Alright I'm sorry!" Edmund apologise as he couldn't be bothered having Peter shout at him.

"Its alright, some little children don't know when to stop pretending." Lucy said with a grin.

"Oh very funny." Edmund muttered sarcastically.

"Maybe we should go back." Susan said as she was worried about what was happening back in the manor.

"Can't we at least look around?" Edmund asked.

"I think we should let Lucy decided." Peter declared.

"I want you all to meet Mr Tumnus!" Lucy said excitedly. 

"Well, Mr Tumnus it is." Peter said and started walking back towards the wardrobe.

"We can't just walk around in these clothes." Susan said which made Peter come out of the wardrobe.

"No but we have these." He said with coats in his hand. "And if you think about it logically- ." He started to give the coats out. "-we're not even taking them out of the wardrobe."

He gave a coat to Edmund which resulted in him giving Peter a dirty look.

"But that's a girls coat!" Edmund shouted.

"I know."

Hecta was staying in Mr Tumnus' house since her cottage was destroyed by her sisters' followers. They didn't know she was living there though. They destroyed it incase Narnians would escape there. Luckily, Hecta had managed to get her staff out of the cottage so Jadis' wouldn't had gotten it. Hecta was quite angry with Mr Tumnus when he had told her how he tried to kidnapped Lucy but she couldn't stay mad at him but when she arrived at the house after going out he was gone and the place was trashed.

Painting were flown of the floor. Tables were kicked over and the painting of his father had a massive scratch mark on it. She began to panic and didn't even want to think about what Jadis was putting him through.

She was now sitting in the living room and eating her toast whilst staring into the fire until the trees told her that the Pevensie's where here. She ran to the back room and waited for them to leave and hoped they hadn't seen her yet.

The Pevensie's were shocked by the state the house was in and Lucy felt eyes filled up tears. Edmund had stepped over the painting of Mr Tumnus' father and quickly removed his foot. But then caught glimpse of a piece of toast sitting on the table and it didn't look like it had been for their ages because if it did he was pretty sure. Hecta looked over the corner of the wall and saw Edmund looking at her piece of toast and mentally scolded herself and turned back around before Edmund saw her.

"Who would do something like this?" Lucy asked a small voice.

Peter noticed something on one of the pillars and walked up to it. It was a letter so he read it.

"The faun Tumnus is under arrest and awaiting his trial on a charge high treason against her imperial Majesty Jadis, Queen of Narnia-."

'More like bitch of Narnia'  Hecta thought. 

"-For comforting her said Majesties' enemies, harbouring spies and fraternizing with Humans, signed Maugrim, Captain of the Secret Police, Long live the Queen."

"Now we really should go" Susan said.

"But we have to help him!" Lucy exclaimed with tears still in eyes.

"Its out of our hands Lu." Peter replied.

"You don't get it do you. I'm the human." Lucy said making everyone turn to her as she felt a wave of guilt form in her body. "She must have found out he helped me."

"Maybe we should call the police." Peter stated quite stupidly

"These are the police!" Susan reminded Peter.

"Why should we help him. He's a criminal!" Once Edmund said that Hecta knew that Jadis had gotten in his head with her beauty and her tactics of convincing which were the same as Hecta's 

"Don't worry Lucy we'll think of something." Peter said with a smile as he went to comfort her.

"Pssst" They heard a robin whisper and so did Hecta.

"Did that bird just pssstt us?" Susan asked.

They siblings left the small house and went outside to be greeted by a beaver. Hecta watched from the small window and saw the beaver leading them to the dam. Hecta finished her toast and followed closely behind as she didn't think Edmund would stick with his family for much longer and she had to stop Edmund before it was too late.
