chapter 22

Hecta

Mine and Cats plan was fairly simple considering she told all of the Pevensies last night. She had told Edmund in the morning, when she finally got him alone, that at a certain time he needs to tell Alyssa he is having a bath where I will be waiting for him. Now I'm just sat in his bathroom waiting for him to enter. I heard the door open.

"No Alyssa! I am bathing by myself." He said as I heard him slam the door and lock it as he walked into the bathroom.

"Hello Edmund." I said as I began to turn the bath on making him very confused.

"What's going on?" He asked as I had a smirk on his face.

"Alyssa knows I'm the Mistress Of Fire and is trying to steal my spell book." I whispered just in case she was somewhere lurking.

"How do you know?" He asked whispering like me

"I caught her lurking in my room going through all my stuff."

"She was being weird yesterday too after you left kept asking where the Mistress Of Fire was, How you killed the White Witch and Where your family home is." He explained.

"Did you tell her?" I said turning off the tap of the now full bath.

"No I didn't even know if your family home was the same castle and I said you moved away after the death of your sister."

"Good because-" I started to say until the door to his bedroom opened making Edmund push me against the wall with his hand on my mouth.

"Eddie, do you still want help?" Alyssa's annoying voice shouted making me roll my eyes.

"I'm okay Alyssa. I'm just trying to relax by myself." He said still holding is hand to my mouth.

"It smells nice have you got any bath salts in there?" she asked sensing something is up.

"Yeah its flowers." Edmund said looking irritating make me try and chuckle behind his hand but he just brought his other finger up to his mouth "I'll meet you later Alyssa."

We heard footsteps begin to leave but we didn't move until we was positive she had gone. We started into each others eyes for a good minute until Edmund went to check that the bedroom was clear. My heart was racing so fast and I could feel butterflies in my stomach. When he came back he moved further away from me leaving an awkward tension.

"So what do we do about her?" He asked.

"If we keep your engagement up until your party tomorrow with the rest of the Telmarine Royal Family then we have a higher chance of confronting them." I explained as I sat on the side of the sink.

"But wouldn't that cause conflict?" He asked concerned.

"Yes but they have pretty much sent a spy into our midst trying to get information probably on all of us. I'm the only one who has caught her. Imagine how they would feel when they find out what village Caterina's from." I explained making him understand.

"Okay but you should go before she comes back. " He said as he began to usher me out. "Next time you don't need me to sneak off to have a conversation with me."

"Don't I?" I said making him agree with me. He checked my surroundings before I stepped out of his room waving goodbye. For some reason I had a sinking feeling in my stomach as if I didn't want to be away from him but that wasn't my main focus was I was pinned up against a wall for a second time except it wasn't an handsome Pevensie. Handsome? Anyway it was Alyssa.

"Never happy with what you have, are you Hecta." She said pressing her hand to my throat. "Have to steal my own fiancée away from me. I know you was there. I see you watching him all the time whilst his eyes are on me. Poor Hecta Murik always the Mistress Of Fire, never loved.!" She finished making my burn her hands with my powers and switch my position. She screamed out in pain making people alerted.
