Hecta
It had been a couple weeks since Mine and Caspian's coronation and most days we spend our time with the Pevensies and Aslan discovering a way to unite both Narnians and Telmarines. It was then when Aslan told us that Telmarines had originally been located in the same world as Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy and that their can be access to a gate that can lead them to the island in that world. I saw Aslan look over at me with a glint of hope in his eyes as I chose to ignore this and gather the Telmarines and Narnians. The Pevensies including Cat stood up to the side opposite our closest friends and Aslan.
"Narnia belongs to the Narnians just as it does to man. Any Telmarine's who want to stay and live in peace are welcome to. And for any of you who wish, Aslan will return you to the home of our forefathers." Caspian said to the large crowd.
"It has been generations since we left Telmar." One Telmarine said in the crowd.
"We are not referring to Telmar. Your ancestors were sea-faring brigands, pirates run aground on an island. There they found a cave, a rare chasm that brought them here from their world the same world as our kings and queens." I told them hearing whispers in the crowd.
"It is to that island I can return you. It is a good place for any who wish to make a new start." Aslan said as it was followed by silence until Miraz's most trusted guard spoke first.
"I'll go. I will accept the offer." He said as he walked through the crowd to the front.
"So will we." Miraz's wife said carrying her new-born along with another Telmarine who I think was her father. All three of them walked towards Aslan when I looked at the tree feeling awkward to look until it moved so it could open. I saw Aslan glance over at me but he must of been looking at the crowd.
"Because you have spoken first, your future in that world will be good." He breathed on them as if to cast a spell leaving to walk through and vanish causing dismay from the crowd.
"How do we know he is not leading us to our deaths?!" A Telmarine shouted
"Sire, if my example can be of any service, I will take eleven mice though with no delay." Reepicheep said to Aslan but he looked towards Peter.
"We'll go." Peter said making my eyes grow wide and my heat beat rapidly. I looked over at Edmund who looked as shocked as I guessed I looked.
"We will?" Edmund asked not breaking eye contact with me until Peter, Susan and Cat came towards Caspian and I.
"Come on. Our time's up." He said as he offered Caspian his sword. "After all, we're not really needed here anymore." But I need you I thought
"I will look after it until your return." Caspian said
"I'm afraid that's just it. We're not coming back." Susan said as my heart shattered and tears started rolling down my cheeks. It was over. They were my new family, my new started and now I'll never see them again.
"We're not?" Lucy said.
"You are." Peter said looking at Aslan as I looked at him begging him with my eyes. " At least, I think he means you two."
"But why? Did they do something wrong?" Lucy asked Aslan.
"Quite the opposite, dear one. But all things have their time. Your brother, sister and Cat have learned what they can from this world. Now it's time for them to live in their own." Aslan replied. Tears started streaming down my face as Cat pulled me into a tight embrace.
"We will meet again Hecta. You're my best friend and I'm never going to forget that. You gave me everything none of this would be possible without you." She said smiling at me as she wiped my tears for a last time.
I looked over at Peter and saw he also had tears in his eyes. I hugged him so tightly I felt like I was going to cut of his cirruclation.
"I know what you're going to say and I will look after her." He said making me snap my head up and shake my head.
"No you need to look after yourself Pete. You have treated me nothing but kindness and care so much about everyone else its time to start caring about yourself." My words made tears escape his eyes as he walked off with Cat to Peter and Lucy. I went to Susan with my hands shakey and she immediately . She also gave me a hug tightly as I could feel her tears drip down my shoulder.
"Please don't even forget me, Susan." I told her making her cry slightly but she tried to hold it together.
"I wont. This isn't goodbye Hecta, we will see each other someday." She choked as she looked over my shoulder as I hinted for her to go. I look over to see the others and saw Edmund gestured me to come over as he held my waist a wiped stray tears that slipped. We watched Caspian and Susan talk until Susan walked off but turned back around to kiss Caspian.
"I'm sure when I'm older I‟ll understand." Lucy said.
"I'm older and don't think I want to understand." Peter said as I felt him stare at Edmund as his siblings and Cat began to walk.
"Don't take too long this time." I told him as he tucked my hair behind my ears. He kissed me gently due to the amount upset I have been and made sure I made my way safely back over to Caspian. Caspian could tell I was a mess especially after losing a family once now losing another except this one I wanted to keep more than anything. Peter, Susan and Cat looked back and waved before they all disappeared with tears rolling down my face.
"Isn't that Edmunds torch over there?" He said as he pointed to the side where it glistened.
"Well good luck getting that back Edmund." I said as I went over and picked it up holding it close to me. I decided to carve my initials H.M inside it as a surprise for when he came back. We carried on with sending off any Telmarines that wished too leave until we had our new Narnians.
