Hecta

Two weeks since the Pevensies had left me. Two weeks of rounding up Narnians for their safety. Two weeks of wondering what was going to happen. Two weeks of wondering if they were coming back and if they meant to leave. Two weeks of feeling hurt.

I was tired now taking responsibility of looking out for the Narnians which was supposed to be their job. I had put all their belongings in the secret compartment to keep them safe incase they returned. But I dont know when they are coming back and if its years from now and the Telmarines take over my spell could reignite due to Cair Paravel still standing. I needed to destroy the castle. So I waited in the throne room for the Telmarines for two weeks until they finally came with catapults and barged through the throne room.

"I was wondering when you were going to show up." I said sitting on Peters throne with my legs draped over the side.

"Yeah well your little humans left you! Surprised they didn't do it sooner." Prince Rhotho exclaimed but I showed no expression on my face.

"Was that meant to insult me? I said coldly making them confused as only years ago I would have done anything to save the Pevensies. "Your plan Rhotho was too get rid of Cair Paravel and the Narnians. Well I already got rid of the Narnians for you I'm sure I can help you destroy Cair Paravel, if you want one of the most powerful witch to help" I had to convince the Telmarines that the Narnians were perished in order for them to not look for them.

"I don't believe you." Prince Rhotho said making me stand up and chuckle.

"They forced me to kill my own sister and made me bow the Pevensies just for them to be abandoned. It was the easier way out for them." I stated but instead of replying they began knocking pillars surrounding me.

I used my powers to send a ball of fire towards the army which annoyed them even more as they sent a boulder my way. I muttered a spell under my breath and quickly moved out of the way before my spell made the explosion of the catapult turn Cair Paravel to ashes. The dust rose blocking the Telmarines view as I left a pair of shoes and my cloak behind to send them the message that I was dead.

I exited the ruins of Cair Paravel through a secret trapdoor which was only used for emergency's. I made my way to Everest and began taking off towards my childhood home to get the Narnians and find a safe place to live.

"What do we do Hecta?" Mrs beaver asked.

"We wait for the perfect time and then we take back what is ours." I replied smiling at her as we retreated to the mountains.

"Hecta your face its going younger." One of Oreius' children told me making me look down in a puddle and saw my face begin to turn back to 13. The age I was when I was in a coma. The age I was when I waited for the Pevensies to arrive.

Many years later, I had begun stealing food from Telmarine Villages to feed my Narnians which is the only positive my 13 year old face has brought. I constantly over hear parents discipline their children by saying the Mistress Of Fire will come in whilst you sleep at night and burn the house down killing everyone inside. It didn't bother me because the only people who I didn't want to view me that way was the remainder of the Narnians.

Some of my dear Narnians had been caught over the years and was publicly executed for the Telmarines enjoyment. The thing I ever had to witness was Oreius who stood by me for many years become a pawn in their games as they cheered. I didn't have time to mourn as the happiness of the Narnians depended on my hope that the Pevensies will save us, even thought they wont.

I arrive home and are met with sympathetic smiles due to the fact that Mr Tumnus has grown sick and was in a tragic state. I was about to go see him when one of Oreius children, Rose, stopped me.

"Hecta I dont know how to tell you this but... he's gone." Rose said making me shake my head n disbelief as I tried to make my way through the doors.

"Let me in, Rose." I said as she moved over offering me a sad smile.

I saw all of Mr Tumnus' friends surrounded his bed of hay ,except for the beavers who died peacefully last year. I saw his body lifeless and still when realisation hit me. He was gone. My only true friend left was dead. I went over to him and leaned my forehead on his and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"We'll meet again, my friend." I whispered to him as I felt all eyes on me. "I need some air." I said leaving the mountains.

I didn't know where I was going as my tears took over my vision. I dismounted my horse when I neared a cliff. I couldn't hold it in any longer. I sobbed for what felt like ages. I cried for my sister, Mr Tumnus, Oreius, the beavers and even the Pevensies. I was angry and betrayed and hurt so bad it made me scream. I kept crying until I could hear screams from below me instead of my own.

I looked down and saw a whole Telmarine Village on fire. I heard people scream as their village was destroyed and saw people trying to run away. I had become the stories they told. I had caused the same damage the Telmarines caused to Caterina. I was the problem. My powers were the problem. I mounted my horse and rode back to the mountains and vowed to never use my powers again.
