chapter 11

IT WAS NOW LATER ON THAT DAY, Edmund, Lucy, Caspian, Hecta, Drinian, Gael and Eustace where back on the island trying to figure out what to do with Eustace. Hecta was trying to comfort Eustace by stroking him. Hecta felt like she had to be there for Eustace, after all she was the only one that could hear him. As he tried to get the treasure of his leg.

"He must have been tempted by the treasure." Edmund told the group.

"Well, anyone knows a dragon's treasure is enchanted." Caspian said making everyone even Eustace give him a look. "Well anyone from here."

Lucy then walked towards Hecta and Eustace carefully as Eustace kept limped away. She reached out towards his claws which he gave her. She took the treasure off making him let out a painful roar making and he put his head closer to Hecta which made her smile slightly.

She was still angry that Drinian had took the same orders she had given him from Edmund but didn't listen when she said it to him. But Eustace had cheered her up quite a bit.

"Is there any way to change him back?" Edmund asked Hecta making everyone look at her including Eustace.

"Not that I'm aware of." Hecta said making Eustace groan. "But there will be trust me. I just dont know one."

"Aunt Alberta will not be pleased." Edmund said making Hecta laugh slightly.

"Sorry about the hand, old boy." Reepicheep told the dragon feeling bad for hurting him before. "I can be a little overzealous at times."

"Boats are ready sire!" Travos the minotaur told Caspian.

"We can't leave him alone." Lucy told the group.

"Well , we cant bring him on board, your majesty." Drinian told the girl making Hecta feel guilty

"I'll stay with him." She said as everyone looked at her shocked due to her not being really close with Eustace. "I can understand him and put out any fire made by accident."

"Your not staying here on your own." Edmund told her.

"But I'm not alone, am I?" She told him trying to get him to reason with her. Deep down she felt to blame as if her magic had never gotten fully out of control, Eustace wouldn't be a dragon.

"Drinian, you and the others take one boat back. The rest of us will stay here till morning and work out what to do." Caspian told him.

"But you've no provisions." Rhince told Caspian. "And no means of staying warm, Your Majesty." After hearing that Eustace set fire to a log on the floor and nudged Hecta to tidy it up a bit which she did.

"You were saying?" Reepicheep said making the group let out a small laugh.

AFTER A WHILE, it got quite dark so they were trying to sort out where to sleep. Whilst Hecta was trying to make the sand comfy she head Eustace say her name making her look at him.

"Can you sleep near me for tonight if your not gonna sleep with Edmund. I really want the company of someone who understands me." Eustace told her which made her look at Edmund whilst he was confused to what his cousin had told his wife.

"Yeah okay." She said turning back to Eustace." I'll just be one second though, okay?" She said making Eustace nod as she walked towards Edmund.

"What was that about?" Edmund asked barely above a whisper as she sat down next to him.

"Eustace wants me to sleep near him because he doesn't have anyone to talk to. If that's alright with you." She told him.

"Yeah it's fine." Edmund said with a small smile making Hecta kiss him but they were stopped when they heard a groan from beside him. They both looked and turned to Caspian with an annoyed look on there faces.

"Get a room." He said making Lucy and Eustace laugh. 

Hecta got up from where she was sat and walked towards Caspian making him jump up and run the opposite way. 

"Pussy!" Hecta shouted at the man before walking back towards Edmund. They said goodnight to one another as she took one of the blankets from a bag which Drinian gave them and made her way towards Eustace.

She placed the blanket and used it like a rug near Eustace's mouth as she shut her eyes and tried to sleep. But it didn't work so she kept them closed until the darkness consumed her as she overheard Edmund and Caspian talk to each other.

"I've never seen these constellations before." Edmund told the older man referring to the stars in the sky.

"Me neither." Caspian said looking amazed at the sky. "We're a long way from home. When I was a boy I used to imagine sailing to the end of world....finding my father there."

"Maybe you will." Edmund said looking up at him and then back at the sky.

"Ed." Caspian whispered.

"Yeah." Edmund whispered back

"What did you mean when you said you were Hecta's husband?" Caspian asked confused. "I mean I thought you left Narnia before you could get married."

"I did." Edmund told him. "But the other day when we got on the boat after leaving Coriakin's island. It only occurred to me that we never actually got married. I just always thought she was my wife because we argue like a married couple." Edmund said laughing making Caspian laugh.

"You can say that again." Caspian said making Edmunds smile get bigger.

"Anyways we sort of eloped and now I'm stuck with her forever until I die." Edmund said making Caspian smile.

"Well congratulations, you both deserve the world together." Caspian said making Hecta smile and with that knowledge finally drifted off the sleep.

It was now daytime, Hecta was awoken by someone shaking her but instead of waking she slapped them in the face making them let out an 'ow'. When she heard the 'ow' she opened her eyes and saw Edmund rubbing his cheek making her laugh.

"And you wondered why I didn't want to wake her up." Caspian said making her look at him but was blinded by a blue light making Edmund let out a 'ha' to her being nearly blinded.

"What is that anyways, its ruining my sleep." Hecta said as she tried to lay back but Eustace's head was in the way making her look at the blue floating in front of her. "Oh for fuck sake." Hecta mumbled but no one heard her.

Before she could even register what was going on Edmund dragged her up so she was standing up and put her over his shoulder and put her in the boat so they could go and follow the blue star.
