chapter 11

Hecta

It was like the world has stopped as I stared back at the woman who gave birth to me as she stares at the woman who ended her life.

"How are you here?" I asked with venom in my tone as everyone stared at us both in surprise.

"You made this nightmare chamber darling whilst trying to plot against me." Medea said as she began to giggle. "Which is funny considering I rule this island because I am your biggest fear."

Just before I could reply a shriek came from the side of the boat as a massive sea serpent came out of the water. I knew this was Edmund's thought he had non stopped talking about sea serpents since Drinian had mentioned it. I stared at it and then saw a flash of orange fly past me and before I knew it Eustace was attacking the sea serpent with his fire hurting the beasts eyes. I saw Lord Rhoop pick up his sword and before I could stop him he chucked it at Eustace making him groan in pain and fly off with the sword we needed in his stomach.

I was ripped out of my throats when I was flown backwards towards Caspian, Edmund and Lucy by my mother who looked furious. I looked at them and saw they was scared.

"You guys deal with the serpent and I'll deal with her." I told them as they began making their way to fight the sea serpent. I saw Medea walk towards us but Lord Rhoop stepped in her way which she easily sorted out for herself by chucking his dead body off the ship.

"My child." She says looking at me with her evil eyes. "Join me and we can destroy this world." I answered by throwing a fireball within her direction which she dodged easily. "You rude, disobedient child!"

I made my way towards her throwing so much fire at her which see still dodged until she protected her self with a ice shield and then wrapped her vines she used to use against me on my wrists as I was carried up towards the sea serpent who was staring at me with its sharp teeth. I decided for once to take my fathers advice and let go. I created the same explosion like I did in the Telmarine Castle during the night raid burning the ropes my mother had held against me and damaging the serpent in the process. I landed on the ground standing up as I could see fear on my mothers face but I saw the serpent crash down nearly landing on Edmund making me jump to move him out of the way.

"You okay?" He asked.

"Yeah." I said as we went our separate ways as I saw my mother look towards Gael who was sitting on the floor scared.

I nodded over to Lucy as she went for Gael as I got my sword and stabbed my mother in the side focusing her attention on me. She took out a knife she had hidden and went to stab me which I managed to dodge making us in a battle with our skills not our powers. All of the sudden, I felt the boat grow tighter as I saw the serpent go under the boat and back over to try and break it making me stab it where it's heart should be as it stopped causing damage to the boat. I turned my back for a minute and felt my mother stab me gaining my attention as I kicked her far away from. I started at her not breaking eye contact as I began to mutter a spell under my breath trapping her down to the floor.

"What have you done!" She shouted as I watched her try to break free from my spell.

"Research." I told her with a smirk but that went away when I saw Edmund try and lure the sea serpent to where he was. The creature charged towards him making my heart drop until I saw him perfectly fine. "Wait for my signal." I told him as I knew I had to stall until the last sword was on the table.

I conjured a fireball and aimed it towards my mother breaking the floor in the process. I muttered another spell before my mother could come back and when she did the boat when to a halt causing me to fall but she didn't look in my direction.

"Elvirok." She said with tears in her eyes showing me that my spell was working as she looked into the distance.

I took this opportunity to stab her in the back with my knife making her leave the spell I put her under. She limped away from me and then sent a light bolt my way which I took and used for my own. We was trapped out of our fight when we heard my sisters voice coming from near Edmund. I look down at his sword and saw it was glowing blue meaning Eustace had done it. I nodded towards Edmund who understood my signal as I grabbed my mother by the shoulders stabbing her in the stomach and then stabbing myself at the same time Edmund stabbed the serpent. We both fell back as she looked confused.

"You really would sacrifice your life for them?" She said as her skin started to fade away.

"To prevent me being a danger to Narnia? Absolutely." I said as turned into a pile of ash when the sun finally rose destroying the island.

I could see the boats full of the missing people form around us making me smile as I stayed on the floor. I saw Edmund up making his way down smiling until he saw the state I was in. He ran towards me followed by Caspian and Lucy.

"What happened?" Edmund asked has he got down to my level inspecting my wound.

"We destroyed the mist from ever coming back." I said as realisation struck his face.

"No."

"Ed it was the only way. I couldn't be a danger to Narnia anymore. Now you made me a promise." I said with a smile on my face.

"No, I refuse to believe that. Come on Hecta I love you so much. I dont want to be in a world without you please." He said as his face was flooded in tears making me use all my strength to wipe them away and bring my lips to his. When we parted ways I looked at Caspian and Lucy who was also crying I grabbed both of their hands.

"Thank you for being my new family." I told them all before darkness clouded my vision and I couldn't see anything.

"So you did it." My father said as I looked around as we was still in complete darkness.

"It was the only way." I told him as he came closer to me.

"I know you destroyed the curse the dwarf put on you. I am so proud of you. I know you never knew about me but I hoped I would find you. It just took a lot longer than I thought." He says as he gave me a hug but before I could register what was happening he was gone leaving me alone in the darkness.
