Hecta
Coriakin led us back into the library room but moved the furniture so it was pushed off to the side as he laid out a map of our Narnian history with me featured next to Jadis and no where else making me feel suspicious.
"That's quite beautiful." Eustace said making us look at him very shocked since it is the first time he wasn't complained his whole trip here. "I mean for a make-believe map of a make-believe world." As I looked more closely I saw a face I wanted to forget. My mother. Shown in the forests of Narnia luring a man who I assume is my father. As I looked to another picture was a younger version of my mother with an older woman who I assume is my grandmother.
"Like it." Coriakin asked me making me eye him suspiciously.
How did you-"
"Know what your Grandmother looked like?" He said cutting me off making me annoyed but I could only nod. "It's hard to explain but why dont you all take a seat this story could take a while." He said as seats came out of no where making us all sit down. "Your grandmother grew up in Telmar when she stumbled across this man who said he had the power to give her anything. She had loved reading fairytales and had heard about Aslan and greed grew and she wanted powers. He gave her them at a price she would marry him. She agreed and then they got married as she made her deal of the bargain and gained fire powers not as powerful as yours but it was enough. She began to love her husband for everything he gave her until he gave her one more thing. A child. She had never wanted a child but he had. They stayed together raised the child, who was your mother, until your grandmother hated her life and blamed your grandfather for it killing him in front of Medea. But your grandmother didn't know that your mother was cursed to never grow old and never die at the hands of her mother."
"Am I meant to feel sorry for her?" I asked growing more angry at what this was meant to achieve.
"No I need you too tell my about your father." He said staring me dead in the eyes as everyone looks confused.
"What does this achieve may I ask?" Caspian said drawing the attention of me for a split second. "We came here to learn about the mist and how to stop it."
"Which is exactly why I'm asking this question my King." He said as the question went back to me.
"He was from the human world an-" I began to say until I was cut off.
"No, not Noel, your father." He said making me extra confused as on the map a mans face showed and it was like looking into a mirror except for the eyes staring back at me. "Your true father is a powerful man who fell in love with your mother during her time in Telmar. He could travel between worlds at ease and offered this gift to your mother as they ventured into the human world causing chaos and when they came back your father asked permission of your grandmother to marry your mother. She said no and used your grandfathers spell to send him away from your mother until she died. He left without a word leaving your mother alone and pregnant causing Noel to enter Narnia at her command." I felt my eyes begin to water as Edmund held my hand. My whole life was a lie. I had killed an innocent spelled man with my hands thinking he was my father. "He had contacted my ancestors and visited frequently to gain information on you and granted them some magical abilities. One of my ancestors was told to guard you."
"You're related to Rio?" I said feeling upset at the thought of the man who raised me.
"Yes but your father grew angry with the way you was being treated and said my ancestors wasn't doing enough making us banish him from Narnia whilst our bloodline is alive."
"Okay thanks for the family lesson but what about the mist now please." I said making him glare at me.
"Your the reason for the mist." He said I felt everyone look at me as he began to show the Black Dwarf I had made a deal with. "He gave you a curse on your sister to never die at the hands of anyone but you and never told you of the consequences. He transferred some of your power onto the land of Narnia which corrupted part of it but as your powers grew so did the mist creating a dungeon of death and nightmares." He said showing the thing I had accidently created "This is the source of your troubles. It can take any form. It can make your darkest dreams come true. It seeks to corrupt all goodness.. to steal the light from this world."
"How do we stop it." Lucy asked.
"You must break its spell. That sword you carry-" He said pointing at the sword Edmund has by his side. "-there are 6 others."
"Have you seen them?" Edmund asked the wise man.
"Yes." He told him.
"The 6 Lords. They passed through here?" Caspian asked intrigued even more as I sunk lower into my seat trying to take in all of this information.
"Indeed."
"Where were they headed?" Hecta asked.
"Where I sent them." He told her. The map then changed to a beautiful mountain. It was covered in grass and then had a waterfall coming out of it. "You must follow the blue star to Ramdu's island. There the 7 swords must be laid at Aslans table. Only then can their true powers be released. But beware. You are all about to be tested. Especially you Hecta. Until you lay down the 7th sword, evil has the upper hand." He told the youngest Pevensie "It will do everything in its power to tempt you. Be strong. Don't fall to temptation. To defeat the darkness out there, you must defeat the darkness in yourself." He told the group. "Now you must be on your way." I took this opportunity to leave immediately with someone following on my tail.
"I'm sorry that just happened to you." Eustace said making me face him being confused about his new attitude. "I don't think its your fault like he's implying."
"And how do you know Eustace?" I asked with a curious expression forming on my face.
"If you was truly evil and knew about it you would have told my cousin. " He said as the others came into the hallway looking at me.
"Did you know?" Caspian asked making me offended.
"Of course I didn't!" I shouted back. "Why on earth would I not stop it sooner!"
"I wasn't on about that." He said making even more confused. "Did you know your father can still contact you through your thoughts?" All the pieces of my life and recent events just fit into place the moment who said those words. I needed to talk to my father if I could find a way but every time he has spoken to me in my head was to tell me to let go. I'm not sure he is any better than my mother. I hadn't even noticed tears spill out of my eyes until Caspian came to hug me followed by Lucy and Edmund into one big group hug making me laugh whilst Eustace pats my back. I'm so happy that I had been able to find a new family who cares for me the ways I need.
