Hecta
Once we had left Aslan's table, we immediately went back to the boat and began setting off to our next adventure. Everyone was scared but I was more than others. I didn't want my father to be right. I have been studying my spell book more closely on the deck so far I have found nothing.
"So, what do you think is in there?" Travos asked as all of the crew stood up and looked towards the island we was getting close too.
"Our worst nightmares." Edmund said as I went next to him and squeezed his hand reassuringly.
"Our darkest wishes." Caspian said.
"Pure evil." Drinian added. "Travos, unlock the armoury." He ordered making Travos nod and get to work. "Archers, prepare yourselves."
"Light the lanterns." Travos ordered the crew.
"Ed, lets go get ready." I said as I took us to our room which our armour was waiting for us.
My armour was a bit more flexible in comparison to Edmunds allowing me to move quickly if I needed too. I started to put my knife in the pockets I had and my sword attached to my hip. I felt arms wrap around my waist as I looked in the mirror and saw Edmund staring back at me.
"We're going to be okay." He said knowing I must be nervous. I looked around the room and saw my sceptre that I had not used this whole trip staring back at me. I turned around to Edmund to face him with his hands still on my hips.
"Ed if somethings happens-"
"Don't." He said to me. "Please don't say that."
"Please just listen." I said with hopeful eyes as he agreed. "If anything happens to me I want you to take my sceptre with you."
"I don't understand." He says looking even more confused with me.
"I'm not saying it will I just want to make sure it's in good hands." I said as he kissed my forehead.
"It will be safe because you will be holding it." He says making me laugh as he leans down and kisses me. "I'm going to protect you because I need you in my life. I love you."
"I love you too." I said as I heard a knock on the door. We both turned to look and saw Caspian come in with a sword in his hand.
"I noticed you gave up your sword." Caspian told him
"Wasn't mine to keep." He said with a small smile.
"Use this." Caspian said holding out Peter old sword.
"But it's-"
"Peter would want you to have it." Caspian told him as Edmund let go off me and went over to grab the sword of Caspian and giving him a hug which made me give Caspian a hug too. "We need to go boost morale."
"You two should do it." Edmund says making me smile at him as we walked out of our room and stood on the balcony over looking all of our crew who had joined us.
"No matter what happens here." Caspian started. "Every soul who stands before me has earned their place on the crew of the Dawn Treader."
"Together we travelled far." I said continuing where Caspian left off. "Together we have faced adversity. Together we can do it again. So now is not the time to fall to fear's temptations. Be strong. Never give in."
"Our world, our Narnian lives, depend on it. Think of the lost souls were are here to save. Think of Aslan. Think of Narnia." Caspian finished off and just as we was about to walk down the crew all said Peter's familiar chant making us stop in our place as Lucy and Edmund smiled towards us.
⁂
It has begun. We have entered the dark island in a eerie silence as we all concentrated on putting our guards up and never letting them falter. The fog had started to cloud our vision meaning we can not see what is inside this mess that I have created.
"Edmund." Lucy said making me look towards him and saw his chest beating frantically as if he had seen something he didn't want too. "Are you all right?"
"Yeah." He said but neither us believed him. I was cut off when I heard something in the distance.
"Do you hear that?" I said as we ventured further into the fog.
"Keep away!" A man shouted repeatedly.
"Who's there?" Edmund asked.
"We do not fear you!" Caspian shouted.
"Nor I you!" He shouted back even louder than before meaning we was getting closer. Edmund then grabbed his torch from the side and shined it onto the rocks near the boat and we saw and old man he looked terrified as he told us to keep away. "You will not defeat me!" He put his sword up towards us making us realise he is the last Lord.
"Caspian. His sword." Edmund told him.
"Lord Rhoop." Caspian stated.
"You do not own me!" He shouted as the crew were being told to stand down.
"Lets get him on board. Quickly." Caspian ordered but as the crew were trying to get him on board Eustace beat them to it. He picked him up and carefully dropped him on the boat making the man panic. "Be calm, my lord." Caspian said trying to calm him down but it wasn't working whatever he had seen in whilst stuck here hasn't worked well on his mind. "We are not here to hurt you. I am your King, Caspian."
"Caspian?" He asked as he turned around slowly and gasped at the sight go him. "My lord! You should not have come. There's no way out of here. She will know your presence." He said make me feel tense and let my guard down for a bit.
"We need to go." I said as I told Drinian to move the boat to where we came from but it was too late. A familiar laugh made its way towards us making everyone stop what they was doing.
"No,no,no." Said the man. "Do not think! Do not let it know your fears, or it will become them."
"Oh no." Edmund said next to me causing us all to look at him.
"Edmund, what did you think of?" Lucy asked.
"Oh, I'm sorry." He said but before I could answer a green light shown on us as I saw the person I shared eyes with stare back at me.
"Long time, no see."
