chapter 4

Edmund

When I got to the boat with Hecta immediately the medical fauns came surrounding us and took her off me. I stayed in the room as they tried to find the problem. Apparently, the needle she had been stabbed with got too deep leaving her to blead more than she was meant to. They gave her some of Lucy's cordial and suggest we let her rest. Caspian had then organised a meeting with us to discuss what we had seen on the Lone Island whilst Hecta rested.

"When I was leaving the Lone Island Lord Bern stopped me and gave me this old Narnian sword from your golden age." Caspian said as he handed me the sword. "Keep it. We need to find the other Lords and thanks to Lord Bern we know where they went and why they did. The mist. Now I know where all thinking the same but I dont think it is Hecta's exact magic as magic exists everywhere within Narnia."

"I agree." I said "No way would she have done that especially not when she's Queen so we need to find the source and put an end to it."

"Where's our next stop?" A voice said as we turned around to see Hecta standing in the door way. Her eyes looked tired and she looked even more pale than she did before. She didn't seem okay and I don't know why. "Don't worry I feel a lot better must have just lost a lot of blood so why dont you catch up." She said with a smile as I wrapped my arm round her waist as she stood in front of me.

Since we left the Lone Islands we had found nothing but water until now but even that looked deserted. It was a big island that had mountains surrounding it. It look magnificent as if it held answers. Hecta, Caspian, Drinian and I was stood staring at it from the head of the boat deciding on what to do.

"It looks uninhabited. But if the lords followed the mist East, they would have stopped here." Caspian said looked through a telescope.

"Could be a trap." Drinian said.

"Or it could hold some answers. Hecta?" I said as I looked towards Hecta as she smiled at me and told Drinian what to do.

"We'll spend the night on shore, scour the island in the morning." Hecta said walking off with Caspian and me towards the crew to prepare the crew to come with us. We began to rest on the shore with me and Hecta sharing a blanket on the sandy beach. I tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear as she held my hand.

"I love you." She said making my heart pound.

"I love you too." I said as I took her face in mine and kissed her like my life depended on it. Later that night we began to fall asleep into each others arms.

Hecta

I had woken up from a dreamless sleep by a hand covering my mouth. I looked around and saw no one but I couldn't speak. I looked around the beach and saw that Lucy was gone making me go into panic mode.

"If you don't stop wriggling she will be dead by the time u get there." The voice said but I was 100% sure that it was different the man speaking through my thoughts constantly. I was then dragged to a field of nothing where Lucy was. I was dropped right next to her when more voices spoke.

"We brought your friend now, are you going into the house of the Oppressor?" One voice said.

"And do what?" I asked not being amused to these creatures.

"They want us to break a curse that makes them invisible that's why I asked for you. Apparently there's a book in the house." Lucy explained to me with a scared look on her face as I look all over her to check their is no injuries.

"And if we dont?" I asked making them laugh as if I was some useless girl.

"Erm we will kill your friends." He said unconvincedly but that was enough for Lucy as we went closer to the glow from the invisible house "Upstairs, you'll find the Book of Incantations. Recite the spell that makes the unseen seen."

We entered the house and it was quiet magnificent with the decorations and lights making it have a homey atmosphere. We walked upstairs and found the room with the spell book in it as dread started to creep in my stomach. I knew this book but I dont know how I did. Lucy turned the pages and found a snow spell that seemed very familiar. "With these words your tongue must sew for all around there snow." Lucy said reading the spell as snow started to fall in the room.

"Lucy we need to find the spell quickly." I said as I looked around the room and saw the spell only affected the room not the whole world. I was cut out of my feelings when I heard a page rip and the familiar roar of a lion I know all to well. I turned around and saw Lucy put it in her pocket. "What is that?"

"It was an accident it just broke, the Professor wont want to keep that" She said making me not convinced so I took over and started flicking through the pages until I found it. I began to recite the spell and I wasn't sure if it had worked until I heard the ladder in the library slide as a man appeared in front of it looking confused.

"Ahhh I see. Did those creatures ask for you to make appear again?" He said looking at Lucy avoiding looking in my direction. "Well we best go see if it worked." He said as he led us out of the house explaining that it was his island until we reached the door.

We saw the creatures circling Edmund and Caspian as they were quite hideous with one foot as we appeared the creatures appeared frantic at the sight of the oppressor.

"Your majesty." Coriakin said to both Edmund and Caspian as he began to shoo the creatures off into running away.

"What were those things?" Eustace asked behind Edmund as he began to follow Coriakin.

"Dufflepuds." He said walking back towards the house.

"Right. Of course. Silly me." Eustace muttered under his breath making my try and hold back a laugh as he walked with us.
