Edmund

I feel so guilty for my behaviour. It felt as if I didn't have any control over my body. I now understand what Coriakin was talking about when he said the mist can tempt you. I don't even want riches I can do without them. I looked over at Hecta who was walking far in front not looking at me. I guess I was just tired of being bossed around but that wasn't how I wanted to tell them about how I felt.

"What food did you find?" Caspian asked the crew as I looked into the baskets and saw most of them was empty.

"It's volcanic, Your majesty. Not much grows." Rhince told him as Lucy and I looked around and couldn't find our cousin anywhere.

"Where's Eustace?" Lucy asked making the crew all look around and confused.

"I believe he's out, not helping us load the boats." Reepicheep said making Hecta sigh.

"Eustace!" Lucy shouted but was met with no reply. "Eustace! Edmund I've got a bad feeling."

"I'll go look for him." I said as I began to walk around

"I'll come with you." Caspian said making me grateful he isn't holding any grudges.

"Lucy and I will stay behind with the crew incase he comes back." Hecta said with a small smile. I could tell she was nervous making Caspian and I walk off together trying to find my cousin.

"Eustace." We both shouted over again until we stumbled upon treasure. "What is this?" I asked as Caspian became very caution.

"Dragons treasure." Caspian said as we began to walk through it until I found Eustace's clothes and his diary which he kept on him at all costs. This wasn't good.

"No." I breathed out realising what this meant. "Oh cousin."

"I'm sorry." Caspian said as he patted my back.

"He was just a boy. I never should have left him. What could have happened to him?" I asked Caspian as he looked at me sadly.

"In this place? Anything. But he wasn't the first" He said as something caught his eye making him make his way over to skeleton with the Lord's Sword next to its body. We grabbed the sword and began making our way back towards the others. I was so close as Hecta noticed the clothes in my hand and looked truly upset until she looked scared.

"EDMUND!" She shouted but it was too late I was already in the air,

I looked up and saw that a dragon had picked me up in its hands and was most likely going to take me to its treasure but not without Reepicheep stabbing him first . I could feel us sway and move with arrows coming close to us some nearly hitting us making the dragon fly further away from the crew until it brought us to a different place with the floor in fire spelling out 'I am Eustace.'

"You have got to be joking." I said to my cousin who is now apparently turned into a dragon. He then brought me back in one piece as all crossbows was pointed at him.

"Stand down!" I shouted making everyone lower their weapons "It's Eustace." Making everyone even more confused whilst Eustace nodded.

"He must have been tempted by the treasure." I told the group later that day as the majority of us stayed behind whilst the crew loaded up the boat make sure Eustace was okay. Hecta was currently sat next to him as he tried to get the piece of treasure he stole off his wrist.

"Well, anyone knows a dragon's treasure is enchanted." Caspian said making everyone even Eustace give him a look. "Well anyone from here."

"Is there any way to change him back?" I asked my girlfriend as she tried to help Eustace get the treasure off.

"Not that I'm aware of." She said making Eustace groan. "I can try and find one." She smiled over at Eustace trying to cheer him up.

"Sorry about the hand, old boy." Reepicheep said to Eustace. "I can be a little overzealous at times."

"Boats are ready, your majesties" Travos the minotaur told us.

"We can't leave him alone." Lucy told us all making me agree.

"Well , we cant bring him on board, your majesty." Drinian told Lucy with a small smile.

"I'll stay with him." Hecta said as we all look in her direction confused even Eustace. "I can help put out the fires who might cause so it doesn't destroy the island."

"Your not staying here on your own." I told her as I went closer to her.

"But I'm not alone, am I?" She said as she smiles towards Eustace.

"Drinian, you and the others take one boat back. The rest of us will stay here till morning and work out what to do." Caspian told him.

"But you've no provisions." Rhince told Caspian. "And no means of staying warm, Your Majesty." After hearing that Eustace set fire to a log on the floor and nudged Hecta to tidy it up a bit which she did.

"You were saying?" Reepicheep said making us all laugh.

We all started to make our beds for the night upon the beach as I put my blanket next to Hecta who I hadn't been able to speak to her properly. She didn't look up at me yet as I just sat down in front of her.

"Hey, can we talk?" I asked her as she nodded. "I'm so sorry for what I said. I promise that is not how I think of you or that situation. The mist corrupted my mind and I would never want to hurt you. I love you."

"I love you too." She said but I could tell she wanted to say more. "I know you have nightmares about what happened with you and my sister. And I know that you had the opportunity to free her and you didn't. I just want you to know I'm sorry for all of it. If I never let you go in the forest you wouldn't feel that way just how I'm feeling now Eustace is a dragon because of my problems." I didn't want Hecta to know I had bad dreams about her sister because it is unfair on her that she is still mourning the loss of her little sister whilst I'm celebrating her being dead.

"I never blame anything that happened to me on you. And neither does Eustace." I said looking at my cousin behind us who nodded making us both laugh as Lucy and Caspian made their way over to us to set up their camp with us. "Are we okay?"

"Of course we are Edmund." She said as she wrapped her hands around my neck and placed her lips on top of mine.

"Get a room." Caspian said making us pull apart as he put his blanket next to mine.

"We do." Hecta said with a smile and a wink making Lucy pull a face of disgust and lie down as Caspian giggled. I watched Hecta relax and turn to her side to sleep whilst Caspian and I looked at the scars.

"I've never seen these constellations before." I said taking in the beauty of the stars in the sky.

"Me neither." Caspian said looking amazed at the sky. "We're a long way from home. When I was a boy I used to imagine sailing to the end of world....finding my father there."

"Maybe you will." I said giving him a smile and looking over at Hecta who is fast asleep.

"Do you think its your last time in Narnia?" Caspian asked me which made me nod even though I wished it wasn't true. "What are you going to do about Hecta?"

"I have no idea." I told him honestly. "I have these dreams of us living in England together but I dont think that's what she wants. So honestly, I'm dreading it."

"You know you are all she could talk about." He said making me smile. "She would ask me what she thinks you all were doing. I could tell she was upset about not having you all here. Narnians would ask for stories of you all and she would answer. She loves being a Queen and caring for others but she loves you more, Ed"
