THIRD PERSON'S POV.

"Is dad home yet?" Artemis asked her brothers as she walked into the kitchen and sat on the Island chair along with the twins.

"Yeah, he just got in a few minutes ago. I'll tend to him later. You three off to school!" Ace shouted and passed the three their breakfasts.

Ace knocked on Nickolai's door lightly and opened it when he didn't receive any response. He walked in the placed the breakfast tray, he had brought with himself on the coffee table in the room before heading over to the bed. He found a figure sleeping on the bed in this dark room. Nickolai was on the other side of the bed, wrapped in a blanket.

Ace's gaze fell on the lights that were on, behind the slightly opened door on the other, secluded side of the bedroom. From a young age, Nickolai had forbidden them all to walk into that closet.

But today, something inside Ace made his feet take an unusual track and soon he found himself infront of the closest. Looking over his shoulder, to see Nickolai still asleep, he took a deep breath and placed his hand on the double doors.

"Who is it?" He heard his dad's gorgy voice, which made him back off and walk back to his dad.

"It's me, Ace. I brought you breakfast." He replied sitting on Nickolai's side of the bed. Nickolai turned over and fluttered open his eyes.

"Where are the kids?" He asked, placing his hand over his eyes, shielding him from the light.

"The younger ones are at school. Demitri is at the warehouse and Giovanni is out." Ace replied, bending a little forward, blocking the light from his father. "And, I'm here to feed you. You've been in this room for the past five hours. It was lunch two hours ago. Now get up, old man!" Ace snickered at the last comment knowing well Nickolai hated being called old.

But, he didn't respond with anything this time. Ace walked up and closed the door of the bedroom, from where the light escaped. He walked back to the bed and got on the covers, kicking of his shoes. He layed beside Nickolai and placed his hand on his dad's.

"Dad, tell me. I know you are not alright, let us help you. You've always been there for us... Tell me dad..." Ace pleaded.

Nickolai didn't respond, instead he pushed his hands out of the blanket and wrapped it around Ace, who did the same thing. The father-son duo stayed like that for sometime until Ace sat up straight.

"Dad, come on. Have lunch. The kids will be back home any minute." He said as he tried pulling Nickolai out of bed. "Fine," he huffed. "I don't know how Artemis is going to react when she finds out that you've been sulking all day and didn't even have Lunch." Ace kind of threatened Nickolai.

"Fine, I'm up! I'm up!" He sat up from the bed knowing how stubborn his daughter could get. His eyes widened when he saw the light of the closet on.

"Now that you are awake, have your lunch and come down." Ace said and waked out of the room. He opened the group chat as he walked.
