"You're all over the underworld!" Gianni shouted barging into Artemis's cabin bursting through the wooden door, making her look up from her laptop.
"Okay....." Artemis replied in an un bothered manner while slightly tugging at her hair. Gianni in return gave her a bewildered look, making her roll her eyes. "I know Gianni, and what do you want me to do about it?" She asked diverting her attention towards her laptop.
"The Mafia leaders, cartels, gang members, other heirs, everyone wants to see you. Our allies, they want to meet you." Gianni replied propping one of his thighs and sitting on the office table, beside her laptop.
"I'm not doing that Gianni and you of all people should know that." She replied nonchalantly as her eyeballs moved as she looked at laptop screen.
"They all want to see the Italian heiress who has done such tremendous changes and progess into the Mafia. They want to know you, Artemis and we can use this to our benefit." Gianni tried convincing her.
"Gianni. I have my reasons. I have had made it very clear that I'm not coming out in the public eye." Artmeis let out a frustrated sigh. "Everyone in this Mafia knows how this works; You attend the meetings on my behalf along with dad, I sign the necessary deals and make the necessary changes needed for the Mafia. Dad is still the Don and he's the face of the Italian Mafia." She replied annoyed about how many times they had gone through this very same conversation. Before Gianni could open his mouth she cut him off. "Hence there is no need of this," She circled her face. "To be revealed."
"But Temi-,"
"I'm not answerable to the Mafia. I haven't been sworn in yet. The Regina is only answerable to the Don, and dad has agreed to my conditions." She replied cutting Gianni. "I'll be sworn into the Mafia in a few months, so we'll deal with that problem when we have to."
"Artemis!" Gianni said through gritted teeth, in a frustrated voice, running a hand through his blonde locks and standing up from his place. "You're not understanding the gravity or the out come of this..." He muttered but Artemis heard it, making her sigh.
"What do you mean G?" She shut her laptop and asked him tiredly, giving him her full attention. Traces of lack of sleep evident on her face.
"Artemis, you being the heiress bounds you to adhere to certain rules and regulations. Our allies are one of the most trustworthy people and we as a Mafia have been working with them since decades." Gianni tried to reason out. "You not being on the same page as them can be deemed as a tremendous backdrop for us. So much that, they can declare war on us."
"I.Don't.Care." Artemis spoke bluntly. "And as far as I know, out major Allies are the Greeks, Britishers and Americans. Uncle Alec knows me and is Family and won't even think about it, The Britishers know me personally and William won't let anything like that happen. Whereas for the Americans, they're gonna be our family, and dad will take care of them alogn with Ace- if needed to be. The French keep going in and out of the treaty, so they shouldn't be a problem." She retorted.
"The only thing they are asking is one meeting, just one meeting where they can see you and see the face belonging to Artemis." Gianni spoke, trying different ways to lure her in as he stood on the other side of the table.
"Correction G, they want to see the face behind the name Regina. The name I've take in the underworld and the business world." She corrected him. "And my decision is final, and If you people want to show the heir or heiress of this Mafia to the world so badly, I'm more than willing to hand over all of this to Ace. I'm sure he'll understand." She looked at Gianni, her stare boring into his eyes, giving him the hint that this was her final judgement.
