Kevin, Alex, and Jimmy waited at the front of the school building together as the kitten happily talked with the doctor, distracting him while they waited for Matthew to show up, as Alex was keeping the older male from trying to pester Kevin about what he had planned for today.
But the wolf was like a sealed lock and didn't answer, leaving Alex to strike up a conversation.
Mostly due to him noticing the slight look of annoyance that was beginning to flash in his eyes, so the teen was mostly doing this for the doctor's sake.
When a thought came to mind, "Wait, didn't you have work today?" the kitten questioned, "I did. Until Kevin dragged me straight out of the hospital while informing the front desk about borrowing me for a while. Despite the patients I needed to check, might I add and-"
"They were mostly those who were in for shots, no check-ins, no emergencies. So quit complaining," Kevin says while slightly glaring at Jimmy.
"...How did you know?" the doctor questioned, with a slight frown on his face.
"I have my ways," was all the redhead said, before shifting his attention towards the entrance of the school to see Matthew jogging out of the school building. "Sorry for the wait," the eagle says, "Took you long enough, let's go," Kevin says as he places his hand on Alex's head, before guiding the teen out of school grounds.
As both Matthew and Jimmy followed the two, the doctor questioned, "What were you up to?" needing a different distraction to keep himself from further questioning Kevin about what he had planned for his birthday and how the wolf had obtained the information about his work schedule.
"Ah... There was a certain dog who wouldn't leave me alone," Matthew answered while rolling his eyes, "She didn't try anything, did she?" Kevin asked, earning their attention.
When the group filed a single line behind Kevin, as the crowd moved out of the way.
"Well..." Matthew started up before sighing, "She didn't try to smell you again?" the wolf asked while glancing over his shoulder, with a look of disgust on his face. "Wait, she's been smelling you?" Jimmy asked, leaving Alex confused.
"Yes, and I want to say no. But-"
"I'll check you later," Kevin says, cutting the eagle off, earning a nod from Matthew, "What's going on?" Alex asked, curious about the situation, including Jimmy, who was new to this information as well.
"Tora's a little weird around Matthew. So sometimes she smells him whenever she gets close enough to and leaves her scent on him," Kevin explains, seemingly annoyed.
"Kevin hates the perfumes she uses," Matthew chimes in, helping the kitten understand the issue as Jimmy hums, understanding this.
Though now that left the question of why check Matthew if her perfume got on him?
---- Time Skip ----
The group waited for a bit, as other guests arrived, while Jimmy practically bounced on his toes, trying to keep himself calm, his curiosity practically gnawing at him.
Just as a vehicle pulled up in front of them, before a familiar girl came out, though her hair was now raven and out of its natural pigtails.
While her glasses were nowhere in sight, being replaced with contacts, "U-um..." she stammered a bit, when Alex gasped, "Jessie?" he said, finally recognizing her, as even Matthew took a moment to recognize the teen the second she opened her mouth, "Y-yes," she replied, earning a big grin from the kitten.
"You're so pretty!" Alex says, further embarrassing the teen, who shifted her attention away while playing with her hair.
A small, "Thank you," leaving her lips at the compliment as Kevin was whispering something to the person in the car, before he closed the door.
