Heading to his front door Charlie stopped as he noticed how dark it was outside. He and Thomas had been so busy talking and getting more on the maps he let time slip by. He checked his phone as it read almost midnight and opened the door.

Hearing the silent house he stretched and quietly headed to his bedroom.

Getting upstairs he saw his sister as he reached the top stair as she rubbed her eyes looking at him confused. "Why are you up so late? Where were you?"

"Photos...why what's up? Are Mom and Dad asleep?" Charlie stopped and sat on the step as his sister walked over. "Yeah. Me and Andrew were worried"

"Sorry I get caught up with...pictures. If you want I can get you guys some ice cream tommorow" He beamed. "Tommorow is thursday right?"

"Yeah"

Charlie smiled at her tired eyes fighting to stay awake as he took her hand. "Come on. Lets go to bed dork, your too young to be up late"

"Ok..." A yawn left her lips again as he lead her to the large bedroom with bump beds.

Tucking her in he hurried to his room and turned on the light as he continued drawing on the map.

After another few hours he was halfway done when his bedroom door opened to his tired mother in her robe. She looked like she was barely awake as she leaned against the door. "Charlie it's almost one in the morning. Why are you still awake you have school"

"Homework" Charlie instantly lied.

"Your homework can last until six you missed dinner. Did you even eat out?"

"I ate at a friend's house. I texted you earlier"

His mother's grey eyes blinded twice before she stood herself up. "Go to bed Charlie you have school" She turned and left the door open.

He knew it was to keep from staying up with the door open.

Giving up he turned off his light going to bed
