Sitting outside the house. Thomas stared into the darkness outside. His eyes stared into the darkness, only seeing the dim lights of other homes.
Rain poured on his shoes as he noticed the rain clouds shifting away, only showing the stars as he let out a cold breath.
Rubbing his eyes, he remained sitting on the porch rubbing his still wet eyes as he thought of everything. "I can't....we can't... God."
The feeling of his phone buzzing again made Thomas roll his eyes up in annoyance.
"What the hell does this ass want?" He snapped as he got out his phone, moving the phone to his ear.
"What!?" He snapped
"Um...Hi asshole" Charlie replied. "Damn, when did dinner get so serious?"
Thomas eyes widened before making himself calm down. "Char... DudeI can't really talk right now,"
"Bull! You'll love this. Are you outside? If you are shut up and listen!" Charlie paced around.
''Charlie. You're calling me at a bad time, " He said, holding his head. "Can you call tomorrow?"
"Jessie is pregnant!" Charlie shouted, making Thomas almost completely change his attitude. "Sh... She's what?"
"Yes! See, it was important! Dude, I'm going to be a father!'
Thomas let out a small laugh as he looked ahead. "Charlie. Congratulations. I'm so proud of you." He let out a laugh.
"Yeah, she was supposed to tell you to tell me. But you scared her. Hope you're proud of yourself, " Charlie laughed, looking back at Jessie, who was watching the movie shaking her head from the living room.
"You could have texted me," Thomas laughed, trying to sniff up.
"Okay, it's not that emotional,Thomas. You are a literal big crybaby." Charlie teased
Thomas let out a loud laugh. "Don't make me rip the roof off your literal tiny dollhouse. You tiny dork. " He wiped his eyes. He sniffed up again, getting Charlie's attention.
"Tom, you okay?" Charlie stopped his pacing as he listened carefully. "Is something up?" He asked his eyes, looking to the window as the sound of wind and rain started to sound outside his window.
Thomas shrugged. "I just fought with my mom. It was dumb. Don't worry about it." A hand trailed along his neck, making Thomas flinch. Looking back, he saw a smiling Eve as she knelt down next to him. "Can I talk to you?" She whispered against his ear. Her fingers moved to his cheeks. Her round eyes softened more as she moved her fingers against his chin.
He nodded. "Hey, I gotta go. Congrats, " He said before a quick hang-up. "Sorry he won't stop talking unless I do that." He laughed his face, brightening up.
"Thomas? Dude, what the hell?" Charlie glared at his phone.
Turning his head, Thomas smiled as he looked at the wet haired girl.
Her brown eyes examined him before she moved on her knees, moving his face closer to the light. "You're gonna get sick. Come inside."
"You're not my mom, Eve. I'm fine. I just need some air."
"You had ten minutes of it. Come on, I won't leave my flowers just bare like this, and I'm not doing that to you. " She stood up, offering a hand. "It's going into twenties out here,"
He nodded as he took a hand, getting up and followed her inside.
