"Oh theses are gorgeous" Evelyn smelled the red roses.
Thomas smiled as he stood next to her awkwardly sketching them. He had to constantly scribble over and try again each one looking like an ugly cabbage.
"I wish I could have a whole garden like this. Heck a few roses be great" Looking over she noticed him sketching and peeked over his shoulder.
"More into animals?" She teased and he nodded. His annoyed expression kept glaring at the perfect flower as if taughting him while he still was trying to get the pedals right.
"I can't draw plants ether small sketches but not life like." Her eyes looked over to see a nearby gift shop. Moving around she pulled his arm as they head inside to see the rows of flowers and seeds.
"Stay here" She had him near the entrance as she ran in the back of the store.
He closed his sketchbook. Looking around the store. "Right she said flowers or candy" He put a hand to his chin. "She was just looking at roses...."
Walking along the shelves his eyes meet with the tag of yellow roses. It was just a stick in a pot but he looked at and it was correct.
He headed to the register getting a sweet smile from the cashier.
Getting the plant he saw Evelyn run next to him setting down at least five how to draw books.
"Ev you don't have to get me theses it's your birthday" He gave a laugh as she smiled back giving them to the cashier.
"I want to, you can practice at work" She took out her purse. Getting the bag she froze noticing the pot.
"You bought something?"
"Well they were a surprise...but Happy birthday" Holding it out Evelyn looked at the card and smiled softly. "You got me starter roses? Thank you!" She hugged him again kissing his cheek.
"Your welcome"
