"You replaced me as your tutor?" Thomas stopped in the halfway to the kitchen.

"Look I know it's sudden but I don't trust pretty eyes."

Thomas rolled his eyes at the nickname. "You act like she thought it was personal. I start officially in the evenings next tuesday we can study then" He continued in the kitchen grabbing a few berries from a near by bowl.

"Not risking it maybe in a week or two once my grades get better and pretty eyes can calm herself"

"Alright I get it. I can invite Eve to have come for lunch then. And study with her" Thomas said in cocky voice.

"More like study her" Charlie laughed making Thomas turn red.

"Don't make me stick you in one of my boots, again" Thomas threatened.

Hearing a loud laugh Thomas glared at his phone. "I hate him sometimes"

"I have to finish my homework but before I go I saw something weird in the woods" Charlie calmed down

"Yourself in a lake" Thomas remarked still bitter about the joke.

"Ha! Your hilarious. No seriously. On the trees, like paint. Its a really weird sign. Do giants use symbols?"

"I...don't think so...I can ask Mom or Hayden" eating a few berries he noticed his mother walking in the kitchen walking past with bags of groceries.

"Text it to me and I can check online too" Ending the call he turned and walked over helping his mom unload.

"Who was that?" His mother smiled looking over as she moved the cans in the cabinet.

"Friend from school. Hey, you know anything about symbols?'' Thomas asked putting away some meats.

"Symbols? You mean like math?" She asked turning back to the full bag.

Getting a small ding Thomas pulled out his phone rasing a brow.

"No...I guess like heart symbols. My friend saw some on a tree in the woods you know closer to human territory."Tossing his phone on the counter by his mother, his hand reached in collecting the piles of cans before walking to the other side of the kitchen.

"Sounds like some random teen trying too impress a girl. Your dad did that stuff all the time. He actually stole a whole maple tree around autumn because he knew I loved fall." Anna smiled to herself as she pulled out the packages of chicken. "But don't you get ideas. Hayden tackle you for stealing trees."

His shoulders tensed a bit. 'Was it humans. It wouldn't be impossible"Yeah but...tiny size. Like human size."

Anna stopped halfway to the fridge. Moving herself toward her son she shrugged. "Most Humans don't know we exist. It's probably where kids make out. " Setting the food down she walked over leaning her hip against the counter.

Thomas looking toward his mother as her dark blue eyes scanned him over. "Is this really about that or are you worried about that girl?" Her smile grew more to concern as Thomas gave a laugh and waved her off.

"She's perfect. Eve doesn't even know about this yet."

"No one is perfect. If she give you trouble you find me. And we can talk girl to girl" She headed back to the fridge.

Thomas looked over his shoulder. "She's not a bully from school, Mom your not beating up my friend"

"Just being safe" Anna smiled warmly
