Abigail's POV
Harry had followed me to the hospital. Which made me furious, but I didn't have the power to yell at him. It's been five hours and the Doctor still hadn't come out with any news.
**
After what seemed like an eternity, the Doctor came out.
"Are you family of Elizabeth Johnson?" both my fake dad and I nodded, "I'm sorry to say, she won't make it, she overdosed on Tylenol and breathed in too much smoke. We were able to keep her alive a little bit longer." I fell to the ground crying, "She is awake right now, one person is allowed to see her at a time."
My fake dad went in only to come back out minutes later, "Abby, she wants to talk to you."
I didn't hesitate to follow the Doctor to her room. Entering her room was one of the worst things I could've possibly done. She had burns covering her arms and she looked extremely exhausted. I choked back a sob but it was hopeless, I ended up bawling my eyes out at the side of her bed.
"Abby, please don't cry." she croaked, making me cry harder, if that was even possible.
"I'm so sorry Abby, for everything. All I wanted was to have a child of my own. I wanted to take care of you and watch you grow up. I know I don't have much time, but the last thing I ask of you is to forgive me."
"Of course I forgive you Mum." her eyes sparkled at the word 'Mum' "You're my real Mum, you took care of me like I was your own, you taught me to be good. You're the reason I'm who I am today. I may have Anne's blood, but I have your heart. I love you."
"I love you too, Sweetie."
**
The rest of our time together was spent in comfortable silence. I held my mum close. After a couple minutes her body went limp, the monitor stopped beeping, and her eyes closed. I began screaming for help, but I couldn't even hear myself, all I could hear was a loud ringing in my ears. Doctors and nurses rushed in, pushing me aside.
"Please, you have to help her! She can't die, she can't just leave me here alone!"
A nurse brought me outside into the hallway, "I'm sorry ma'am, the Doctors have done everything possible. She's gone."
"No, she can't be gone!" I cried, I pushed past the nurse and into my Mum's room.
The Doctors were covering her body with the white hospital sheets. I fell to the ground, I felt numb. I didn't notice that the nurse had brought me into a comforting embrace. I just sat there, mourning for my one and only Mum.
(Poor Abby. Do you think Abby's kidnapper deserved die or do you think she should've lived? Anyway, don't forget to vote and comment, thanks. ~Amy)
