LUCKILY FOR MAY AND HER LOVED ONES, they managed to make a narrow escape into the woods amidst all the chaos that was happening. it had been a full day since then, and for may fernsby, she was unfortunately not doing to well. being anemic most of her life cursed her with ways she never thought were possible, but she knew that no matter what, she had to fight through it. for herself, and for her loved ones, even if most were no longer alive.

may fernsby sat next to the fire, finding the weather outside to be freezing cold to the point she didn't even wanna leave, but she knew she would have to eventually. luckily she still had her thick-knitted cardigan that she always kept by her side, and relied on for warmth.

knowing her mother was anemic, nini took it upon herself to check on her every thirty minutes or so, always concerned for her well-being. "you okay, mom?" nini questioned her mother, concern etched in her features.

may nodded in reply to her daughter, "yeah. i'm fine, baby. don't worry about me."

murphy being right near them, overheard the conversation, and looked to raven, "we need to get may to bellamy as soon as we can."

the pilot, shaw, grew confused, "why?"

"because, as far as we know, he's the only one with her blood type." murphy explained to the pilot, not really in the particular mood to give him many details, "she's anemic, she's gonna need a blood transfusion soon."

"i'm fine, john." may protested, not wanting to make her illness a big deal, but people always seemed to. it's not like she was ashamed for something she couldn't control, she just hated how sometimes it always happened to become the main priority or main topic of conversation.

"no you're not." both nini and murphy coincidentally happened to say at the same time. may couldn't help but chuckle to herself, even if nini didn't wanna admit it, she was a lot like him.

the conversation quickly ended when emori and echo came quickly walking into the cave, "all right. we're all set. the antenna's aimed at polis. fire it up."

"it's not connected yet."

"so, connect it."

"what's wrong? you got spotted?" murphy asked, standing up from his sitting position.

"worse. they're not looking for us anymore." echo announced to the group, making may grow interest in the conversation.

"what do you mean?" everyone looked to see diyoza sitting up from her spot on the ground, clearly still weakened by the other day's events.
