∘◦ ✾ ◦∘_______ ∘◦ ✾ ◦∘KNOWING THAT EARTH WAS TO BE GONE FOR THE NEXT DECADE MADE MAY'S SKIN CRAWL, for so long she craved being on earth again, only to enjoy it for a little less than two weeks because war sparked the second they got down there.
everyone was getting ready for their ten year sleep in the pods, and mostly everyone was already in them. it was mainly all the people that may knew were awake. so the young mother was going around the ship, and doing her rounds on people to make sure they were okay. her next stop was bellamy.
when she stopped in front of him, he was sitting in the corner of the ship's hallway, not too far from their other friends who were too busy to notice him, but may did.
bellamy looked up, and smiled knowing may was in his presence, "how're you holding up, doc?"
may took a seat right next to bellamy, "i'll live. what about you? i know it must've been a couple of hard days for you."
"i lived." the two both did a small exchange of smiles, "what about you?"
"i'm alright, but are you sure you're doing okay? i know it must've been hell for you."
may chuckled mischievously, "like i said, i lived. i'm not a coward, y'know?"
bellamy's smile dropped in an instant, his mind flashing back to when he made the horrible decision and lash out at may, and calling her a coward. to this day, he still felt guilty about it.
may busted out in a short fit of giggles, her intentions clearly not being serious with what she previously said, "i'm just joking, bellamy. i'm sorry i just had to."
"i'm still really sorry i said that—"
may cut him off with a laugh, it was clear she was obviously joking and not being petty, "six years ago? wow you hold onto everything, don't you?"
"and you don't?"
may let out a tensed sigh, her mind instantly knowing who she was thinking of, "some things, i do. but not a lot, i just try to forgive and move on. and a lot of the time i have, but i will admit, some stuff i haven't let go of?"
"like what?"
"sometimes i ponder why krystal willingly left me, knowing i would've been here for her. but a big part of me knows she was hurting, and needed to let go. it still really hurts though, because i feel as if she left a burden of guilt on my shoulders." she confessed to bellamy, which was obviously coming from her heart.
