THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS FOR MAY WERE ALRIGHT, and carefree. despite kane missing after trying to make peace with the grounders thinking they had the missing others, and bellamy, murphy, and the others had yet to return. but she stayed behind the walls, inside, and away from the gates. to make time pass, she spent time with raven, and when she was away from her, she was helping her mother and abby take care of the injured.

for the first time in weeks, she didn't feel like passing out every time she took a step, or doing the littlest thing would take her down. may was doing just fine, even though krystal and her friends were still missing. she missed them all, especially krystal, her best friend. deep down it hurt both the girls they didn't know if each other were still breathing.

but may tried pushing it away, and was now having a conversation with raven outside a tent, both of them eagerly waiting for abby to give an update on clarke. their friend had returned the other night, and both of them were excited to see the blonde again.

"no no, okay, ready?" may told the girl, holding out her hand flat for raven to take. raven rolled her eyes, and placed her palm under the girl's, where they continued to learn their new secret handshake. just barely, raven and may succeeded in doing their new handshake correctly, and that made may bounce up and down in her seat with eager joy. her and raven both cheered at their success, and gave each other a big high five.

"yes! finally!" may cheered, she was always a fast learner when it came to new things, but to raven, learning a new handshake was hard for her. "now you just have to remember it." may added, nudging raven with a taunting smirk.

in response to may's statement, raven rolled her eyes, and playfully hit the girl in the arm next to her. "oh yeah? how about i teach you all about physics, huh? you won't remember a thing."

may snorted, casually shrugging her shoulders as her hands fell on her thighs, "we'll just have to see about that."

their conversation was cut short by the sound of the tent flap opening beside them. both of them looked back, seeing abby walking out of the tent, with clarke just starting to come out.

may took in a breath of surprise, jumping up from the seat she had taken on a storage box. the movement of may in clarke's peripheral vision made her turn her head, seeing the ombré haired girl standing there, an eager smile on her face.

clarke's eyes widened in surprise, an excited smile tugging on her lips as she took the girl into a hug. may stumbled back at the blonde's unexpected force, but returned the tight embrace quickly as soon as she regained her balance.
