Steve's POV

Standing on the quinjet, waiting for Rumlow to start his mission brief, I couldn't help but worry about Elsa. She had been so upset thinking that she had pushed Cedric away and I hated leaving her when she felt like that. Even though she told me I was fine, I knew her better. She was just like me, not wanting to bother other people with her problems. When I came home that night after picking up dinner to find her sitting on the couch crying, I wanted to go straight over to Hogwarts and demand that Dumbledore do something about that Cho girl. But I could see Elsa's point, it was Cedric's call to make but it didn't stop me from feeling the way I did.

She was going through so much but she still managed to smile and care about everyone else. I wasn't surprised to find put that she was the one to patch Loki up after Frigga's funeral even though she had new powers that had started to appear. It was just the kind of girl she was and I couldn't have been prouder of her. She was so much stronger that she believed herself to be, I just wished she could see it. She had mastered the use of the cosmic staff within days for finding it, amazing everyone. She was going to do great things in her life and I couldn't be happier that I had the chance to see it.

"The target is a mobile satellite launch platform; The Lemurian Star," Rumlow said, pulling me out of my thoughts. "They were sending up their last payload when pirates took them, 93 minutes ago."

"Any demands?" I asked the SHIELD agent, getting the feeling that there was more to this mission than he was telling us.

"A billon and a half."

"Why so steep?"

"Because its SHIELD's," Rumlow said, confirming my original thought.

"So, it's not off-course, it's trespassing," I said, frustrated that I wasn't given the full mission details before we left.

"I'm sure they have a good reason," Natasha said, speaking for the first time since the mission briefing started.

"You know, I'm getting a little tired of being Fury's janitor."

"Relax, it's not that complicated," she said casually but the only problem was when it came to Fury, everything was complicated.

"How many pirates?" I asked Rumlow, just wanting to get this mission over.

"Twenty-five, top mercs, led by this guy. Georges Batroc," Rumlow said show me a photo of the man. "Ex-DGSE, Action Division. He's at the top of Interpol's Red Notice. Before the French demobilized him, he had thirty-six kill missions. This guy got a rep for maximum casualties."

"Hostages?"

"Uh...mostly techs. One officer, Jasper Sitwell. They're in the galley," Rumlow told me, leaving me with no doubt at all Fury was up to something.

"What's Sitwell doing on a launch ship?" I said mostly to myself before addressing the STRIKE team. "Alright, I'm gonna sweep the deck and find Batroc. Nat, you kill the engines and wait for instructions. Rumlow, you sweep aft, find the hostages, get them to the life-pods, get 'em out. Let's move."
