Hagrid had put in one last appeal for Buckbeak's life and on the day that he was due to be put to death, I got a note from Hagrid saying that he had lost the appeal. So, after dinner I made the sad walk down to his hut to look after Theo. Cedric offered to come with me but I explained that Theo would be on edge and wouldn't take kindly to anyone without Asgardian blood. Even though he understood, I could tell that Cedric wanted to come with me. But it was for the best if I was alone.

I could see Harry, Hermione and Ron walking down to Hagrid's hut as well, so I ran to catch up with them. But as I made my way over the bridge that connected the main grounds to Hagrid's hut, I could see Draco and his little gang waiting around so they could watch poor Buckbeak's execution. I don't know how, but I just knew that something big was about to blow up so I ran a little faster to catch up with the three.

"You foul, loathsome, evil, little cockroach," I heard Hermione yell as she held her wand to Draco's throat.

"Hermione! Stop! The ferrets' not worth it," I called out to her as I ran between the two.

"Elsa's right, Hermione. He's not worth it," Ron said, backing me up.

Sighing, Hermione lowered her wand and backed away from Malfoy. I put my arm around her and started to walk down to Hagrid's hut when I heard Draco start to laugh.

"Look, the little mudblood needs the red neck, Yankee to fight her battles. Not that Stargirl could ever lay a hand on me. There all pathetic, those so-called superheros. Especially that father of her."

Having heard enough from the platinum blonde ferret, I turned on my heel and walked back over to him.

"Y'all wanna run that one past me again, Malfoy," I said, making my southern drawl even more prominent than it was to override my Brooklyn one. If he wanted red neck, that's what he was going to get.

"I think you heard me the first time, Rogers," he sneered which only made me smile.

"That's what I thought," I drawled.

I turned away from him, letting him think that he had got the upper hand. But as soon as he started laughing, I knew it was time to put on a little show. I turned back around and punched him as hard as I could in the nose, just like Nat taught me. The second my fist made contact with his nose; I heard the telltale crunch of a broken bone. I watched with a smirk on my face as he dropped to the ground with a mixture of disgust, fear and anger on his face.
