After the comic staff 'chose me' as Loki put it, he made me explain everything to my parents. I was worried they were going to be angry at me but Mum being Mum, started to cry because she was worried about me and everything that I had gone through. Because Dad knew how I thought, he completely understood why I tried to hide everything that was going on but made me promise that if anything like this ever happened again that I would talk to them about it. Both of them as well as Loki were furious at Cho for what she had done to Cedric and wanted to go straight to Professor Dumbledore. I convinced them not to because it was Cedric who needed to make that call and made them promise that they wouldn't talk to his parents about it until Cedric had the chance to.
Cedric played heavily on my mind while we were in Asgard. I was worried that I had pushed him away during my time of self-imposed isolation. We had both finally told each other how we felt about each other and then the next day I all but disappeared. I was scared that he was going to think I regretted what I said to him that night and was hiding from him. After I explained everything to Danny and told him about my concerns, he tried to assure me Cedric was worried about me and didn't think that at all but I still couldn't help but worry.
Loki trained me on how to use the cosmic staff once Odin gave his blessing that I could keep it. I was surprised on how easy it was to master and was using it like a pro by the time that we left Asgard the day after Christmas. I had turned it in to a bracelet to wear when I wasn't using it so I never had to let it out of my sight.
Mum had to stay in Asgard for a while longer to help find someone to take Frigga's place running the infirmary and archives. None of us realised how much work Frigga did until she was gone and it was going to be hard to find someone to take her place. And that I was how I ended up spending the two weeks of holidays with Dad in Washington, DC. Before he and Mum arrived in Asgard, Alexander Pierce who was the secretary of the world security council, which basically meant he was in charge of SHIELD, asked Dad if he could be based there for a while because he was needed for some emergency missions.
Luckily, so far, he hadn't been called up for any missions which let us just spend time together. Unfortunately, that meant I joined him on his morning runs. He said I didn't have to but I did need to keep up my training for quidditch and because I knew Nat would kick my butt if she found out I hadn't kept up with my normal training.
Every day that Dad and I went on our morning runs we saw the same African American man doing the same thing, just a lot slower than us. He seemed like a nice man and always smiled and said hello when he saw us. One particular day Dad and I decided to play joke on him as we ran past him.
"On your left," Dad called out to him as we passed him on one of our laps.
On the second lap, I took over saying the comment.
"On your left."
"Uh-huh, on my left. Got it," the man panted as I smiled at him.
On the next lap he beat us to making the next comment.
