Chapter eighteen.

After visiting the twins, who were extremely happy to see their uncle.
Tom and Redd headed to the museum.

Tom stepped in the museum, looking over to owl-man, who was asleep. "Don't wake him up..." he muttered pulling Redd with him to left.

The kitsune glanced behind him. "Does, he stay here just sleepin'?" he asked, looking back to the tanuki.

"No, he does his job too, but he is more of nocturnal," he told. "But come, I want to show you something." he added with soft hum, as he pulled Redd with him.

Redd took look of his surrounding, he felt like he was middle of forest, bugs and trees everywhere.

His ears pricked up to Tom's words. "Oh? What's that?" he asked, his tail slightly wagging side to side. "Tell me, I wanna know." he added, giving little nudge to Tom's hand.

Nook shook is head slightly. "You'll see it soon." He stepped in separate room with Redd. It was tiny. There was potted plants, and there was different atmosphere than what was in the last room they were in.

The kitsune was going to say something, but butterfly landed tip of his nose. He blinked.

Tom let out soft laugh. "At one point I came here often... But then, work started to keep me busy," he told. He soon added, "Back then here wasn't this much life."

Redd watched the butterfly to fly away from his nose. "Butterfly garden, eh?" he asked, giving his tail gentle wag. "If I remember correctly, wasn't our first date at butterfly garden?"

Tom's tail fluffed up."It wasn't a date," he said moving his gaze from Redd. "It was just visit with friend, you were still eighteen and I was already twenty-three."

"Say what you want, but I know what happened back then~" Redd purred with smirk.
"Your memory has failed you, or it's because you got drunk that night." he said, shaking his head.

"Huh, I did?" the kitsune asked, tilting his head slightly. He soon straightened his head, "Okay, I guess that makes sense." he said.

He flicked his tail gently, as Tom took his hand. "But... I still had fun that day, and you looked like you had fun too. It was really rare to see you smile back then." the tanuki hummed.

"I did, I think. Rest of day is little hazy." Redd chuckled. He was quiet for a moment, before he spoke again,  "So, um... Is this really a date? Or..?" he asked, giving his tail slightly nervous flick.

Tom looked up to him. He let out soft chuckle. "I think it is." he told giving little swing to his and Redd's hands.

Redd felt his face getting redder, so he buried his face to his free hand. Tom blinked. "Ohgod... Redd! I can't believe you, we have been sharing bed for a week now!"
"Stooop! I didn't know it meant somethin'!"
"Redd!"
"I, I really didn't think-"

Tom let out soft sigh, as he let his hand go. "I can't believe I fell in love with you..." he muttered, rubbing his temples.
"You-"

"Yes! I do love you, I always have! I am sorry not telling it directly to you, but I thought it was quite clear." he told.

"Does that mean, we can start things over again?" Redd asked, his tail wagging.

"I thought we agreed this is a date, yes?" Tom told with soft chuckle. "So, I guess we could. But really, I can't believe you. You have been snuggling against me every single night." he hummed.

"Shut up." Redd huffed pressing his hand to Tom's face. "I wasn't sure what it meant!"

Tom chuckled as he moved Redd's hand from his face. "You haven't changed at all. You always joked about that everything is date, but when one comes up, you don't know how to function." he said.

"I told you to shut up." Redd told, his tail slightly wagging against the floor. "Or I can shut that pretty mouth of yours~"

Silence.
Tom blinked, before he burst into laughter. He buried his face to his hands. "Do you ever think what you say?" he asked after he was little more calm.

The kitsune flicked his ears. "Ohmygod, Nookie! You have dirty mind!" he scoffed. "You had terrible wording for what you said." he told, brushing his hair back.

Redd stuck his tongue out, crossing his arms against his chest. "It wasn't that bad, you just made it that way."
"Fine, I'll take blame of it." Tom chuckled.

"Good, like you should." he hummed, taking Tom's hand to his own. "Tsh, your hands are tiny." he said, pressing his palm against Tom's.

"You just have long fingers." the tanuki said, giving his tail gentle flick. "I guess, but your hands are still tiny." the kitsune chuckled, wrapping his fingers around Tom's hand.

Redd flicked his tail, pulling the tanuki closer. "May I~ ?" he purred. After he got nod from the tanuki, he pulled him into kiss.

The kiss lasted for a while, before Redd pulled away. He let Tom go. "That was awful." he laughed moving his hands to his face.

"Yes, yes it was." Tom chuckled, moving Redd's hands from his face. "But, I think we can try again sometime soon. Don't you think?" he said. The kitsune nodded, his tail wagging.
