Chapter thirty.

Sam shifted his weight to his left leg. "Met him years ago, huh? Well, that's not a lie."
"Oh, what else I should have said? I fucked him for almost two years, after I broke your uncle's heart?" Redd snorted with smirk.

"Yeah, no." he told, shaking his head slightly. "So Redd, this guy you talked about back then... He was Mr. Nook?"

The kitsune flicked his tail, as he sat down. "Yeh, you never asked his name~" he told.

Sam nodded, "Yeah, I guess so." He was quiet before he spoke again, "So, you did find your man again. But what did you do before that?

Redd rested his head to his left hand. "Hm... Well, after I left you behind, things didn't go that well. I went to the prison little under a year, and were there for little over four years." he told with soft chuckle.

The cat blinked. "Prison? For what?" he asked, sitting next to the kitsune. "And, uh... Does Nook know about it?"

The kitsune flinched. "Oh, ya know, drugs." he told, with little chuckle. "And no, I haven't told him. I can't, he thinks I've been clean for thirteen years, or so."

"Right. So, are you clean now?" the cat asked, flicking his tail slightly. "Yeh, I am. Almost six years." the kitsune told.

"Congratulations, I hope it stays that way." Sam said. "But what did you do after you were set free?"

Redd flicked his tail. He was quiet for a while before he answered, "Nothin' really. Tried to get my life back on tracks, and, I think I am there now," he told. "But, maybe things could be slightly better, dunno."

He shook his head slightly, as he got up. He stretched his arms. "But I guess I should get goin', little Tom is waitin'." he told.

"Of course." Sam nodded as he got up. He opened the door. "If something is needed, just call."

"Yeh, sure." the kitsune chuckled, stepping to the hall. "But, uh... See ya? I guess." he shrugged.
The cat shook his head slightly. "Yes, see ya. And Tommy, all is good, right?"

"Yeah." the little tanuki nodded, as he got up from chair he was sitting at. "Oh, and uncle Redd, someone tried to call you." he added as he handed the kitsune's phone back to him.

"Someone? It didn't say who?" Redd asked taking his phone from him.
"No, it didn't."

"I'll check it later. If they called once, it might be just wrong number." he shrugged, as he slipped his phone to his pocket.

"But let's go, we should get somethin' to eat." he added, as he ruffled the little tanuki's hair.

"Yeah, that sounds great." Tommy nodded, as he gave slight wag to his tail. "Oh, and I would like to get something for Tim. Is, that okay with you?"
Redd flicked his tail. "Yeh, of course! Our flight is at four, so we have time."

Clock hit five thirty.
Tom let out soft sigh, as he went through some papers. He looked up to clock, placing his stack of papers on his desk.
They should be here...

The shih tzu looked over to the tanuki, tilting her head slightly. She placed her book on her desk, as she got up from her chair.

She straighten her skirt. "Tom, I'm taking my break now. Do not touch papers on my desk, I'll be back soon." she told. "Oh, and you really should take break too." she added.

Before the tanuki got to say anything, the woman had disappeared into their breakroom. He sighed softly, leaning back with his chair.

He shook his head slightly, as he got up. He picked his cup from his desk and went over to the coffee pot. He twitched his ears when he heard door open.

He looked over to the kitsune and the little tanuki. "Uncle Tom!" the little one cried as he ran over to him.

"My boy, I missed you." Tom chuckled as he hugged him. "I missed you too." Tommy told snuggling against him.

Redd let out soft huff, crossing his hands against his chest. "What 'bout me?" he murmured, moving his gaze from Tom and the little one.

Tom let out soft chuckle, as he let Tommy go. He gave light pat top of his head. "You can go home, or if you want, you can go to Cranny." he told. The young tanuki nodded, before he left the building.

The kitsune hopped over to counter, and went over to the tanuki. "Didja miss me, or what?" he asked, placing his hands to the tanuki's cheeks. He gave quick kiss on his forehead.

"To be honest, I didn't. Without you being here, I really did get some work done." Tom chuckled softly, moving Redd's hands. "No need to hurt me like that." he huffed.

He let out chuckle, shaking his head slightly. "Of course I missed you." he told, giving gentle kiss to Redd's cheek.

The tanuki moved the kitsune's hair from his face. "You really are living for your name right now." he chuckled softly.

"Oh sush." the kitsune muttered as he buried his face to the tanuki's shoulder. "You haven't had your break yet, right? You can come with me." he murmured.

His ears pricked up when he heard door open. He looked over to the shih tzu who stepped out of the breakroom. "Ohmy, did I interrupt something?" she asked.

Tom pushed Redd away. "No, not really." he said, as he adjusted his collar. "Redd was leaving, isn't that right?"

"Yeh! I was, and I was gonna take Nooksie with me. That's okay with ya?" the kitsune chuckled, taking the tanuki's hand.

"Of course! He hasn't had his break yet, and he didn't have one before noon... So, he can have one and half an hour break." the shih tzu hummed softly.

Redd flicked his tail giving slight smirk to the tanuki. "Oh, is that so~ ? Well then! See ya." he chuckled softly, taking the tanuki with him.
"Have a nice break!" Isabelle wished, with soft giggle.
