"That's a beautiful drawing." Clarence glanced up at a colonial woman looking over his shoulder, gazing at the picture with fondness.
"Oh. Thank you. It's just some of the dogs and cats I see whenever I look down." Clarence announced flipping the pages of the book.
"They're very good, my younger sister was a sketch artist when we were young." The woman announced as Clarence got up.
"I don't think I've seen you around, you new?" Clarence asked.
"Oh Heavens no, but this place is very big." The woman said with a laugh. "I'm Diana Kelly."
"I'm Clarence. It's nice to meet you." Clarence said, taking Diana's hand and gently shaking it. Still, he couldn't stop staring at the colonial woman.
"What's wrong?" Diana asked.
"You look....really familiar." Clarence whispered.
"You don't look like my husband, or one of my children." Diana announced jumping back slightly when Clarence snapped.
"THAT'S IT."
"W-What's it?" Diana asked nervously as Clarence clutched her hand.
"Follow me, I'll show you." Clarence announced.
It was a cool night in Orlando, and most of the surrounding neighborhood were either asleep or catching up on late night TV. Clarence and Diana appeared in the middle of the living room of one of the houses in the neighborhood; Clarence kneeled on the sofa and looked out into the kitchen, while Diana looked around.
"I still don't understand..." Diana admitted before feeling herself get pulled down.
"Look!" Clarence hissed pointing out to the kitchen. Diana followed Clarence's gaze and spotted two men in the kitchen. One had on a teal bucket hat with pink flamingos and a raggedy tank top, while the other....
"George!" Diana gasped, clasping her hands together.
"Y'know this thai place is really good." DC muttered twirling the noodles on his fork.
"Y'see what happens when you eat?" Florida teased, nudging his boyfriend who smiled.
"But....but...how do you know George? How'd you know he'd be here with his boyfriend?" Diana asked. Clarence smiled sadly and sat back on the couch.
"Florida was my boyfriend once upon a time." Clarence admitted.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry." Diana whispered sitting down next to Clarence.
"We were soulmates, we couldn't be apart, but....when ones an immortal being and ones merely human....well...." Clarence shrugged before looking up again at the sounds in the kitchen.
"Dee! That food is for the others!" Florida teased watching DC take out another container.
"But I'm so hungry and I worked all day." DC whined, pouting. Florida laughed and helped DC take the lid off the container so the fed could eat, which he immediately started to do once it came off.
"If you don't mind me asking, how'd it happen?" Diana asked.
"I just got....really sick one day. I could barely breathe, I couldn't walk, my body just disintegrated. Florida took care of me but....I had to leave him in the end." Clarence explained.
"My husband wanted another boy so he got me pregnant again. I lost the baby...and then died a few days later." Diana explained.
"We both had shitty ways to die." Clarence said, making Diana snicker. The two looked up again as Florida twirled some noodles around his fork and fed it DC like he was a baby, making the fed laugh.
"Your son really is good for him." Clarence announced. "All of his boyfriend's are."
"I worry about that 'New York' fellow, though." Diana pointed out.
"And I worry about the Texas guy, we're even." Clarence teased making Diana laugh again. The two glanced over again as the boyfriends put one end of the noodle in each of their mouths, eating it, then their lips coming together like they were the Lady and the Tramp.
"I'm glad George is happy." Diana whispered.
"Florida deserves to be happy, especially after everything he went through." Clarence pointed out.
"You think maybe George will help curtail some of Florida's chaos?" Diana asked with a smile. Florida broke the kiss, but still kept his lips pressed against DC's smiling happily. Then, without warning, he threw some napkins in DC's face from the take out bag, running away laughing maniacally.
"YOU...." DC yelled although he couldn't keep the smile from his face as he ran off after his boyfriend, laughing the entire way.
"I think that's a no." Clarence said with a laugh patting Diana on the shoulder.
"But it's nice that they compliment each other's chaos."
