Line of Duty Jo and Kate

Part 13

3 and half months later
(Writers note the bits in the {}are flash backs)

Kate and Jo was celebrating their 10 month anniversary by sitting in Jo's chair. Which they did most days when neither of them could be bothered to do work. They had decided their anniversary was another excuse to avoid work and sit together for a hour.

Jo had been sat on kates lap the whole time but Kate couldn't help but feel jo was being distant from her.

"Hey what's up?" Kate questioned
"Nothing"
"Baby please tell me. What ever it is I will support you." Kate spoke as she wrapped her arms tighter around Jo's waist.
"Farah keeps asking for me to visit her in prison." Jo looked away as she said it.
"Ok. Do you want to go" Kate asked
"No.... yes. But I just want to tell her not to contact me again."
"I can't tell you not to go. But I will go with you and wait in the car to be a sport"
"Thanks baby. I think I might go just to say I'm in a relationship. And I now have a son and a dog and me and my love are looking at houses together."
"Ahahah don't leave out the bit where it's a 4 bedroom house. So we have room for more kids in the future." Kate whispered against her shoulder.
"Oh don't you worry I'm gonna tell her the lot. But I'm not going to say who the love of my life is. Because knowing that psycho she will try and do something to hurt you baby"
"Just say what you are comfortable with my love"
"I will" jo said against kates lips.

At the end of their day they drove home and to Kates flat. When they opened the door they was greeted by their new family member.
After their discussion of getting a pet a few months ago Kate and Jo decided to go and buy a dog that jo had found on the internet. They didn't tell josh and left work earlier to pick it up and surprise him with it after school.

{Kate was picking josh up from school. When he asked "I thought mum was going to come with you today"
"Yeah she was busy doing something" Kate explained. Josh couldn't help but show his disappointment. "What is she working late again?"
"Sorry mate." Kate didn't feel bad for lying because he was getting a dog out of this. The rest of the car ride was silent on until they got to the flat. Where Kate let josh in and he heard a bark coming from the living room. "What was that?" He questioned.
"Go take a look" Kate smiled as she followed him into the living room where he was greeted with jo sat on the sofa in some comfy clothes before he saw a dog come running towards him.
"Oh my god!!"
"So what are we calling him" jo questioned.
"What we are keeping him?" Josh said confused
"No we got a dog for the day" Kate replied sarcastically.
"Shut up." Jo answered with a nudge to Kates ribs "Yes we got a dog and you get to name him"
"Errrrrm what about Thor"
"Why Thor" Kate asked confused
"Because he is the best avenger" jo laughed as she wrapped her arms around her lovers waist. "Durrhh" they heard josh say sarcastically. All of a sudden josh ran and jumped on kates lap where he hugged both his mums and whispered a thank you in their ears. They all settled on the couch with Thor in kates lap and josh in Jo's and watched movies all weekend long}

"Hey Thor" jo said as she picked the dog up.
"I can't believe we let Josh call him Thor he's not even the strongest avenger" Kate laughed. 
"I don't know about that statement babe"
"It's obviously Wanda that is the strongest" Kate argued back
"She is the best looking avenger I will admit to the one" jo joked
"That is the gayest thing you've ever said"
"Grow up" jo laughed "you sounded pretty gay last night when I was between your legs."
Kate had no comeback to that answer. She just pulled her girlfriend in by the waist.
"I love you" Kate stated
"I love you too" jo whispered. Jo didn't think she would get used to that feeling in her chest that felt like he was about to explode with love when Kate told her she loved her and he must hear it at least three times a day. They was about to kiss when they heard Thor whining.
"And I love you" Kate laughed as she kissed the dogs face.

Once the women got into their clothes they started they night time ritual of jo cooking Kate sat on the kitchen counter keeping the drinks filled up. Kate had convinced jo to make her famous carbonara. Kate was also inchsrge of the music when they felt like it being played. Tonight she went for their soft playlist because off course they have a Spotify account together.

Once the food was cooking jo stood in between Kates legs and they was both just chatting. Until their favourite song came on and they both started to sway to the music.
"I can't wait to grow old with you" jo confessed.
"Same darling"
"I wasn't going to do this now but I can't wait any longer."
"Wait if I think you are gonna do what your gonna do let me get something." Kate interrupted her. And ran into the bed room to find something. When she came into the living room with the black box. Jo also had a black box in her hand.
"Josh is gonna kill me because I've done it without him" jo laughed with tears in her eye
Jo go on her knee and reviled the ring. It was a silver band with with once big dining with two small diamonds next to it.
"Wait let's do it together."  Kate got on her knee and showed the ring. It was also a silver band with one big diamond abs lots of little stones surrounding it.
"Shall we do it together?" Kate asked
Jo nodded and they both said at the same time.
"Will you marry me?" And then at the same time said "yes". Both with tears coming down their face. They both slipped the rings on each other's fingers and pulled each other into a soft kiss. "I love you" Kate exclaimed.
"I love you too"
"Shall we call Josh" Kate asked
Jo nodded and got her phone out before calling his iPad. "Hi mum"
"Hi Mate" Kate said as she got into shot
"Hi Mum"
"Look we gone some news and I don't think your gonna like it" jo said.
"Oh no what is it. Is Thor ok? Your not breaking up are you?"
"Hey no nothing bad. It's just that we errrm got engaged" Kate said as they both showed their rings.
"Thanks for picking it out with me" Kate said
"I helped both of you actually" josh laughed.
"I knew it. Is that why would wouldn't let me but the one I saw the other day?" Jo questioned. Josh just nodded his head before letting out a big yawn.
"Right mate get to bed or you will be having your dad telling us off again" Kate joked
"Bye mum bye mum love you both" josh waved as they put the phone down.
One the phone was down they both decried to share their news through social media. Both posting the same photo of them showing off their rings. Jo posted it with the caption of "she said yes" and Kate posted it as "mrs Fleming to be" they both went into bliss for the rest of the night. They are their food and went straight to bed to enjoy rediscovering each other's bodies.
